Sure, the Knights did not play well their first big road trip, but you aren't considering that Vegas was playing their 4th string goalie during that stretch. The Knights are 7-3 their last ten 19-9-1 overall and just beat Nashville on the road, the Preds had been 11-2 at home before that game. The Stars aren't the best team but they aren't horrible either. The Knights beat them on the road a night after beating the Predators. EDIT: The Knights are now 10-0-1 in their last 11 with big wins over the Lightning, the Stars, the Kings, the Capitals, and Penguins... and are 25-9-2 overall, 2nd in the NHL for wins and points.

3 reason I think, 1: Canadian money is less stable than the US Dollar, which was one of the reasons the original Jets moved to Arizona, 2: The league wants it in the west and no western Canadian cities were in the looks for a team. 3: Las Vegas was a city without competition. Even other northern cities, like Portland and Seattle, have competition in the Trail Blazers and Seahawks respectively. (also, both of them have MLS teams, but I don't think anyone cares if I don't count that.) Granted, that ended horribly with the Raiders coming, but when we didn't know that, it was a good idea to get their team straight into full showing in a new market.

After NHL not allowing their players to go for the Winter Olympics just because it scheduled time is when NFL has just ended and MLB haven't yet started, so NHL basically would get more viewers in that 2 weeks of time when Olympics are held.. Im not surprised at all after seeing that, that new NHL team is gonna be in Vegas what is not hockey town at all. NHL cares only about that one thing and we all know what it is. But really i don't blame them so much because most of the companies are just after the money just like NHL and Bettman are.
