Kevin Love is not the answer. But he's a tool for try to find a solution because the Heat are too small. MPJ is shooting over everyone you have, Gordon is posting up everyone not named Zeller or Bam. Jeff Green can play bigger than anyone you have off the bench. Love needs to give you some minutes, his rebounding is something you'll need in this series.

For me Love could still impact the game. Look ar the Bucks and Knicks series, they were doubted and Love played so well and their momentum was there when he was playing. His outlet passing really made a spark. He just got a minor injury against Celtics but I believe he's still good to play. Spo just needs to trust him again like when he decided to start Love against Bucks and the rest of the series which all of these mascots have doubted them.

Kevin Love’s experience and “spacing” are probably the only upside to changing the starting line. If you slot him at Power Forward, you literally have a 6’9” forward with a wingspan 6’11” wingspan. If they intend to defend like the Lakers did with Rui, it’ll never work. If nuggets run back screens, inverted screens, and DHOs, you’ll never catch the mismatch you want cuz the ball will never move the way Miami “influences” the offense to flow. Hoping that you can free safety Kevin while Bam guards won’t work because Kev’s assignment will probably be MPJ (given AG assignment is Jimmy), and he’s 6’10 with a 7’ wingspan. MPJ has the height and wingspan advantage and will definitely take Kev on the block if he doesn’t take a jump shot. The issue with saying Love is a possible answer to their size issue is that you are asking Kev to trail more athletic forwards in hopes to catch off the Denver offense which is unorthodox and free-flowing (if you telling me a guard setting a screen for your Center isn’t unorthodox, you lost it). You’ll never get the same looks each possession which is why Denver is so hard to guard. If anyone does not understand Zone, please don’t say, they should play Zone from the jump. Miami only switched to Zone because playing Zone from the outset makes no sense. Zone is an adjusting defense that forces a team that either has a preference for points in the paint or has deficient shooting numbers as the game progresses. Key phrase “as the game progresses”. You start Zone from the outset, you live and die at the 3-point line and Miami (based on this game 1 and regular season), did not protect the paint effectively enough to justify gambling Jamal getting hot from 3 (again) or to get others like MPJ, Bruce, KCP, etc. Denver is a tough matchup for Miami because they play a more consistent version of what made Miami such as surprise factor for most teams in the playoffs, give different looks and move the ball because you do not know who will get hot on the night. You can say Jimmy and Bam, but your x-factors are Kyle Lowry and outside off ball shooters. Denver has more than just that. Micheal Malone hasn’t even used rotational pieces who have been here (Zeke or Vlako) or great starting quality players (Reggie Jackson or Thomas Bryant). You want to talk about size, Zeke can defend and is a big forward. Vlako can play good team defense and can shoot. Thomas Bryant is so underrated and boxed as a solely “traditional big”. If you’ve seen him over the years playing since Washington, that man expanded his offense but hasn’t slacked on the other end.

And Aaron Gordon was getting to the basket in the first half. They need to put a bigger body on him. Nuggets were punishing the Heat in the paint. Maybe if you're the Heat, you should attempt less three pointers and attack the basket because the Nuggets just made them look like a jump shooting team.
