So many Orthodox Fathers have such an amazing presence. Often, you can pick up their reverence and fear of God through the screen. Father Lynch is certainly one of these wonderful priests, what a blessing it is to be able to hear him talk from across the world! Love and appreciation from Denmark 🇩🇰

About a year ago I reached out to Fr. Zechariah, asking if he could recommend a parish where I was living. He did, so I visited on a weekday and met with the priest, who Fr. Zechariah knew from seminary; it was my first experience in an Orthodox Church. It was amazing. Coming from hyper-charismatic Evangelicalism, it was a shock - a beautiful, wonderful, awe-inspiring shock. Through what can only be described as divine intervention, I found myself at a Russian parish a couple weeks later as it was closer to my home. I began attending in July and was Baptized last Friday into the Orthodox Church, receiving the Holy Eucharist on Lazurus Saturday. I do thank God for Fr. Zechariah, he helped me begin my journey into the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. Glory to God!

I find this channel so useful. I grow up in an Orthodox Church in Ethiopia. As a grow older I had a lot of questions and since questions where not encouraged, I joined other faith, explored different cultures and faith but deep inside I always felt some void. When I got married and have kids I needed to decide what faith I want to teach my kids and that is when I decided to come back to orthodox. But the challenge has been finding good teachings like this channel to teach my husband and children who don’t speak Amarich. Thank you for this!

@28:50 Challenging one's ego so that it is not about what we like or dislike? I came to that conclusion three and a half years ago. A corollary of that conclusion is that people would sooner eat broken glass than conceding to do something that they do not like with someone whom they “love”, like going to a concert of classical music.

There are different perspectives. Here, in Eastern Europe, we have a different view of the Orthodox Church - strong national-ethnic ties, entanglement in politics, communist apparatus, cooperation of clergy with the political police, denunciations, currently support for Putin's policy, support for military aggression, alliance of throne and altar, caesaropapism level high... Not only the beauty/correctness of worship is important - "you will recognize them by their fruits..."
@JunkSock
@JunkSock 19 күн бұрын
Ironic isn’t it? I’m assuming most of the orthodox congregants in these European countries are actual authentic Christian’s though, even if their hierarchy is compromised
@za_a_nawet_przeciw274
@za_a_nawet_przeciw274 17 күн бұрын
@@JunkSock It's not ironic. it's despair. An example of a different perspective is this - most evangelical Protestants in Europe believe that the USA is a holy country, because so many people are born again there ;) Joining the church is a conscious submission to authority. The lack of fruit is a normal defensive reaction against this.
@JunkSock
@JunkSock 17 күн бұрын
@@za_a_nawet_przeciw274 had to come back to this reply a couple times to think on it but I think I have where you’re coming from. Haven’t stepped into a European church or any denomination so I’m not familiar with how much work a local Orthodox Church would be putting in compared to a local Protestant. Interesting post, also hadn’t thought about the intentionality of choosing the state-church when there are alternatives available. Cheers

Is this Catholic / Orthodox Liturgy, what is called Spiritual Worship ? Is this what Lord Yeshua taught us ? Is it what the Apostles taught ? Let us together examine the Scripture and see whether we can accept that ? 🔹All believers agree that the Jewish temple in Jerusalem was not destroyed until 70 AD and there were numerous Synagogues in Israel until that time. Is there any biblical reference that any of those Jewish believers of those days as having worshipped Lord Yeshua in this manner ? (Check Mathew 28:9,17; Luke 24:52;) Did the early believers received the Holy Spirit when they were worshipping God in this manner ? (Check Acts 1:12-15; Then they returned to Jerusalem...when they had entered, they went up to the upper room, where they were staying;... All these with one accord were devoting themselves to prayer, together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and his brothers ....In those days Peter stood up among the brothers (the company of persons was in all about 120) Acts 2:1,4; When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place....And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. 🔹What were Gentiles doing when they received the Holy Spirit ? Acts 11:1; Now the apostles and the brothers who were throughout Judea heard that the Gentiles also had received the word of God >>> Acts 11:15; As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them just as on us at the beginning >>>> SO WHAT IS SPIRITUAL WORSHIP ? ✅ Jn 4:23-24; The hour is coming, and is now here, when the TRUE WORSHIPERS will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him MUST WORSHIP in spirit and truth.” >>>> ❤️ Romans 12:1; I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, HOLY and ACCEPTABLE to God, which is YOUR SPIRITUAL WORSHIP. 🔹 What is the meaning of presenting our bodies as a living sacrifice ? What is the result of Spiritual Worship ? >>> 1 Thessalonians 5:23; Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 🔸Do you genuinely believe that you are Sanctified after these kind of Spiritual worship? Who can do it ? Can these mortal men in long attires, (Jude 1:19; devoid of the Spirit) with a cross ➕ in their hand do that ? 1 Thessalonians 5:24; He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it >>> Acts 5:32; The Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him >>> Phil 3:3; For we are the circumcision (circumcised in the Heart, baptized by the Holy Spirit) , ..... who worship by the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh ( no confidence in these type of worship) 🔹When the Holy Spirit dwells in your Soul, you becomes 1 Cor 3:16; Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you? Rom 8:15; you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” Rom 8:27; the Spirit intercedes for the saints ( Saints are those Sanctified, who received the Holy Spirit) Rom 8:26; Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. 🔹Instead of seeking how to receive the Holy Spirit to dwell in our Soul, in our heart, to intercede for us to God, Why are you going to these man made buildings and seeking the help of men devoid of Spirit to intercede to God for your behalf. 🔹Do you want to know the reasons behind these practices ? Just fact check your religious practices (be it any denominations) and then read Heb 10:29; Mat 28:20; Titus 2:10; and then ask these following questions to yourselves:- (a) Have you trampled or observed ? (b) Have you gone beyond what is written ? (c) Have you received the teaching of the Apostles (Heb 13:7; Jn 10:20;) or that of the so called ‘church fathers’ ? 🔹 Seven Times the Lord has warned us ?Rev 2:7; He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.>> Rev 2:11; He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches >> Rev 2:17; He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches >> Rev 2:29; He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches >> Rev 3:6; He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’ >> Rev 3:13; He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’ >> Rev 3:22; He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. 🔹What is that the Spirit saying to the Churches ? What shall we do ? Listen to all that the Lord Yeshua Messiah had spoken and obey all that Lord Yeshua commanded us to do. The Apostles have explained everything what the Lord taught. Obey them, imitate their faith,(Heb 13:7;) for all of them were Jewish turned Christians/Disciples (Acts 11:.26;) They were never followers of the religion called Christianity. 🔹What I wrote is based on my understanding of the Sacred Writings. You may not agree with my comments. If you don’t agree with what I wrote, let us reason ourselves.Please share your comments. Don’t forget to quote the relevant citations while doing so.

For Sarphim, to say that the only reason that the sun still rises and the trees bear fruit is because the Orthodox liturgy continues, is rather presumtuous. The bible tells of God's motivations in that regard, when Abraham was pleading with God to spare Sodom & Gomorrah, and God said He would only say His hand if there were any righteous there. (Currently there are righteous Christians all over the world other than in the Orthodox Church) Also, God is long suffering towards mankind, and He is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance

Dear brother/sister in Christ. To enlighten your mind please see my response below: 1. No one is closer to our savior Jesus Christ more than his Holy mother, the Virgin Mary. She is the pure vessel and is virgin before and after giving birth. 2. No one is worthy than her to intercede for us. She knows her son more than anyone else. He lived with her for 30 years before starting his teaching. 3. She is the pillar of our faith. So if you don't ask for her intercession, you are missing out of her blessing. 4. She is the mother of all generations, Luke 1:46-56. 5. Please read John 2:1-11, wedding at Cana Galilee which clearly shows whatever she asks for us, Christ will give us according to his plan. At the wedding the groom didn't ask her for wine but she knew that they ran out of wine and asked her son, and he responded to her intercession in a profound way. 6. Christ while he was on the cross, he cared for his loving mother who was grieving while looking at her son going through excruciating agony and pain for our salvation. So, he gave her to his beloved disciple, John. 7. She had played a great role for our salvation. So who would be praised more than her after God. 8. She is very humble, unlike Eve, the Holy Virgin Mary called herself maidservant but Eve ate the fruit to be like God which made them to get kicked out of Garden Eden. My beloved friend, please read Orthodox books about her. She is so sweet and very loving. She knows our challenges and asks her son before we ask him. She is the only human being who defied any form of sin as the Holy Spirit guarded her, she had a free will like all of us, but remained pure and holy and was found worthy to bear God on womb. The heavens and earth can not hold him but the Holy Virgin Mary carried him on her womb for 9 months. How beautiful is this !!! Oh, I wish I could say more about her!!!! But the books in the world won't be enough to write about her. I would also recommend you read the book of Revelation, St. John talks about her in a mystical way. May she open your mind. Sisterly love from Eritrean and Ethiopian Orthodox Christian believer.

You fell to the typical Protestant slur that is result of their ignorance of the ancient Christianity. St. Paul, for example, has no problem with saving people (verses below). We all know that he can't save anybody on his own, but he is a God's vessel, used by God to perform Church's work on earth on His behalf. Through Grace of God, Saints are our helpers, like those 4 men who carried paralyzed man through the roof before lowering him in front of the Lord (Mark 2,3-11). (Rom 11,13) For I speak to you Gentiles; inasmuch as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry, 14 if by any means I MAY provoke to jealousy those who are my flesh and SAVE SOME OF THEM. (1 Corinthians 9,22) to the weak I became as weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, THAT I MIGHT by all means SAVE SOME.

God is the source of sin because God is the source of man and the source of all creation. It's really indisputable. There would be no sin if God had not made man capable of sinning and gave man the opportunity to sin. And God knew from eternity that this is how things would unfold, and so God chose to create a world where sin would exist and thrive. We are responsible for our actions, to be sure, but it's poor theology when many Christians attempt to completely disassociate God from all the bad which occurs on earth.

Prayer to a Saint is not the same as to God. Just as if I were to come to you and say “I pray thee help me to understand or pray for me.” We are entered into a community that is the body of Christ, His church. We first and foremost go to Christ and yet we also have this beautiful community to help and love us through their prayers and any work God permits them to do through His Grace.
