Yes, first saw it in the "The Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels." Although I had read about it before. It's the o.g. orange paperback one.

@@hyperspacedatabase Actually most of the window is decoy space the bridge is only a small fraction of it. But other decks may also use it as window.

I worked for West End Games & Decipher Star Wars lines in the late 1980s and up to mid 90s. When we saw our ship designs in the Novels we felt like we had pretty much won Oscars or Super Bowl.

When I met Timothy Zahn, I asked him what ships he created for his Heir To The Empire trilogy and he gave you guys huge praise for your designs and all the great references he got from Lucasfilm to write his novels. He loved the Skipray Blastboat as much as I do and ships like the Carrack became canon because of those size comparison illustrations. The Dreadnought too!

They should have made one version with 10 turbolasers, 10 ion canons and 10 laser canons for a more well rounded ship defense.

Tough little ship. First came on it in Heir to the Empire. The pre-Disney Star Wars where Imperials were not all sadistic idiots with twisted childhoods or crying over the past, but formidable military talent in a system that yes, valued ruthless efficiency. And there was more than one point of view in the Star Wars galaxy.

I remember being back in middle school in like '97 and buying the Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels from the school book fair. Dude, that thing was so awesome. It had so many ships and info on every one. I wish I still had it. It's almost like your channel is like an online version of that book 🤣 love what ur doing friend.

1:40 whoever was writing for WEG and said five fighters instead of 6 was ignorant of how important wingmen are. A round 6 half squadron should be the amount.

Carrack cruisers are tough, but I'd still rather go for Lancer Frigates to complement larger ships like a Victory or Imperial Star Destroyer within a small strike fleet. Nonetheless, a useful ship for any fleet! 😁

I hope to see you cover more of the vessels from the Ssi Ruuvi Imperium, Yevethan Dushkan League and some of the Empire of the Hand's designs. Armed for its size? Yes. Armored.... Ehhhhhh. It's more speed and firepower based. It has a lot of structural reinforcement and damage control separation. But it still can't slap on enough armornto protect its oversized reactorm

I think Imperial Spurcebook predates Heir to the Empire. Heir was its first narrativr appearance, (which iis the wookieepedia standard) but the first appearances were WEG
