you know I have been playing since 2 years right now. I create myself a schedule (but I am not sure is the right one) mainly to improve my legato and alternate picking, learning music theory and so on but still I feel there is something missing and precisely how to connect all what I have learned in a way that I can pick up a guitar and do something original. I was wondering if you give private lessons on Skype lets say, because I really need someone to asses my level and tell me in which direction to go. My aim is to reach your current level.

Hey I am an old guy that has been playing guitar for ever. You really are taking your time to show just what you are doing. You are the first one I've seen adding the small photos of what notes you are playing. I can always see what notes they are playing until I fiddle around a bit. Good job. 2 thumbs up.

I first heard Hendrix when I was in my late teens in Augusta, GA. I had gone to almost every R&B show at the Bell Auditorium for three or four years before that. I still play almost every single day and with a lot of emotion.. I'm glad you're keeping this stuff alive; it's good stuff.

LexLuthier1 Yo Lex,I used to go to wrestling matches at the Bell Auditorium in the mid 1970's,first heard of Hendrix in South Augusta,I went to Barton Chapel Elementary School. A friend of mine had the Album Are You Experienced.

Same, man! Have been playing guitar for 20 years now, in 4 hours I learned more from him than I did in 20 years. I could play the guitar, but mostly just play what other artists created, practicing for hours to be able to recreate Hendrix songs, without really understanding what I was playing or why it had to be played there, it was always very frustrating and every time I tried to learn theory it was very boring and without being applied to the instrument, which was maddening and hard to understand. This guy is a genius as a player but mostly as a teacher, it's so easy to understand and every 10 minutes I'm having an eureka moment "THAT'S THE REASON OF THIS BEING PLAYED THERE", damn, haven't been this excited to study the guitar since I started playing it.

Dragonaut nah, he sounded pretty Scottish to me. Funny though, they all sound completely different, even though they're all from the shire, which is NOT a big place. Frodo definitely had the fakest accent though.

Well I'm american. And I can tell the difference between an accent from Wales, London, Ireland, and Scotland (don't get me started on women's irish accents, holy hell). Harry Potter here may as well don his hobbit armor and slay some orcs. With all that said, I liked his guitar lesson ha.

Good lord, can't believe how quickly this transformed my rhythm playing and all it took was applying the triads and their inversions. Have known them for a while, but I've never had any way to apply them up until now. Seems the only way to really pick up on theoretical concepts is to apply them practically. Thank you very very much for sharing this. This has been an immense help.

This is SO simple, yet brilliant. I'm guilty of chugging along using the same old chord shapes, but now I see how to mix in triads and short fills. Why this never occurred to me before, I'll never know. I'm currently working through Ross's Bulletproof Guitar 2.0 course and love it - many lightbulbs are finally coming on!

This sounds really like Jimi Hendrix. Only very few can play like that. Another thing with Jimi is that at every event he played every song slightly different according to the mood he was in. Each performance was fresh and unique.

Even more inspiring than the last video of yours that I just watched. I've seen & heard all of these concepts in the past. I never was able to completely grasp them until watching your no nonsense straight to the point take on them. It's so much easier to understand when you have someone who has a firm grasp of the concepts explain it to you. I've watched a lot of other you tubers try & explain simple concepts like these but they make them sound like it's rocket science that they are not able to put into words, but here you are doing exactly what they fail to do. Thank you sir. This is very inspiring.

Exactly! It's extremely useful once we know the reason. I have been expanding my solo and rhythm playing abilities using these "bits of the chord" concepts. They fit like a glove over the chords being played and help to break out of the limited box of playing only pentatonic scales all the time. I find that when there is a chord change, if I focus on playing a piece of that chord or a few notes of it, my playing sounds so much better and more melodic. Of course the scale notes and chromatics are great for connecting from chord to chord.

I typically explain this with further clarification that involves seeing pentatonic box one (major) as it sits above the "A" chord shape. Dude, you rock.

This is great tutorial, Ross. A nice explanation of a relatively simple trick that a lot of guitar players (even quite advanced) overlook or never learn. Triads and 2 note chords are a great way of adding a bit of style and harmony to lead work and melodic fills . Great tutorial and you Keep on point, demonstrating the idea tastefully without falling into the 'look how fabulous my playing is' trap. Without wishing to sound patronising or superior well done young man !

A lot of old time country guitar players did that move, its nice, many psychedelic guitar tricks were amplified country tricks, peiople often don't make the connection. Hendirx listened to it all

Ty ya is a trip....ya explain so well and precise...am a singer but mostly use the acoustic guitar with only the chords to accompany me with....and been doing gigs alone.....that was refreshing.....
