the reform kinda sucks because you don't get missions to boost janissaries or the janissary estate. Only fun gimmic about them is you roll random national ideas with them so you can get some broken stuff like 10 discipline. 2:15 you can also just release subjects to block off land you don't want to get them in. I left myself as ottomans basically with my capital and just greek land and that way got greek orthodox janissaries. I then formed greece (it was a very boring run)

janissaries was taken from balkan childs but they were getting educated in anatolia and the head of janisarry state was in anatolia thats why they spawn there i guess

hah the fact that you made this video is really funny to me because it's exactly the thing I proposed for Ottoman player at our MP campagin (he had terrible experience and that's one way to salvage that), and we were wondering what would happen if he reformed as Rum so very informational Also number of provinces is most likely defined as % of lands that jannisaries have so you could release yourself larger if they have higher % of lands (as is for cossacks, see TheStudent's video for those if you want tips)

Thats pretty cracked that the ideas randomize like it’s a custom nation. Just unfortunate you have to pray to RNGesus get a usable idea set. Will have to try this 👍

For all campaigns w/o a big mission tree w lots of claims, the “claim whole states” + “reduced claim cost” from espionage and aristo is a huge quality of life improvement… alternatively, Holy War CB, but that’s no good for Sunni-on-Sunni or Catholic-on-Catholic 🤷🏻‍♂️

The Reason Janissary spawn in Anatolia is historical. Balkan Janissaries sent missons in Anatolia region for cutting their ties in Balkans. Anatolian Turkomans are sent in Balkans. Vice-a Versa.
