From a young age, our lives are impacted by colors. Colors are some of the very first things we learn and we subconsciously attribute positive as well as negative feelings to them. They are often deeply personal and rooted in our own experiences. But there is more to it - find out about how color can positively impact your everyday life and how color affects your perceptions of reality. Patricia has always been a curious mind and loves anything related to culinary arts. After graduating from the hotel management school in Lausanne where she had met many people from different cultures and backgrounds, she pursued a career in marketing and sales. On this road she explored various business sectors whilst always focusing on creating a unique customer experience. Her passion for travel, her hospitality background and her Swiss-Hungarian roots have significantly impacted her approach on how she tackles new challenges. While attentively driving the digital transformation in her organization she manages to integrate operational excellence and strategic foresight together with her team. I have put my phone on grayscale for many years now 😊 For iPhone users, grayscale is in the accessibility settings. Easy to revert to normal to see photos and videos. I did that because colors on the phone are abused. The goal has never been to help us but to trick us to do something. So I have turned all colors off on my phone. I have been less disturbed and distracted since.

I don't know if it's her accent or what but I could listen to this woman read the phone book. Her voice is so soft and comforting like a blanket. I use this TT to help me drift off to sleep. Thanks Patricia 😊

Many years ago. When I was in my late 20's (I'm 56 now), I was going through EMT training. At that time, a doctor, whose name escapes me, had talked about using color, instead of the number scale 1-10 for determining a patients pain, 1 being least and 10 being the most. It was experimental research at the time - BUT - it worked 100% better than the number scale for pain reduction. It was just as easy to assess the level of pain by initially asking, "If pain were a color, what color would your pain be right now?" followed by "What color is your pain now?" and so on. The most amazing thing happened - the patients pain decreased as the color changed when they were asked even without any type of analgesic or pain medication being administered. The numeric scale depends greatly upon the use of either one of those things AFTER they have been administered. The human mind, such a fascinating place. The color scale became something I used as my kids were growing up. To clarify, NO we do not "all" use the whatsapp app or any other added app for that matter. I still prefer talking with and to someone without texting, messaging, etc. I also have my apps organized by category and are labeled accordingly ie tools, social media, utilities, etc. Eye color, not clothing color, is what I notice first when it comes to first impressions and always has been. I do have my clothes organized by color, sleeve or pants leg length and grouped by individual type of clothing. What can I say? My Dad was a US Marine. 😁 ~ APRIL LIPKE

There are many different people on TED talks who share different ideas and I really appreciate it. I was also exploring the effects of colours on human personality and vice-versa on KZfaq and this video was really fun to watch! Well done Patricia! 👏👏 _PS: I nailed the Whatsapp drawing._

I'm a 2d artist, polyglot and have aphantasia, for me what might be a cool or cold blue can at times feel warm to me, likewise what to others is a warm red or orange, can be cold to cool for me, so not all people must have the same color reaction, though I'm likely an odd outlier in these terms

My mom has anxiety and blue calms her down and feels “warm”. I have depression and red pulls me out of my own head. I think it depends on stuff like that.

I have never used Whatsapp. OMGosh 110 times per day. That's over 6x an hour assuming you sleep for 8hrs per day. What is so freaking important and how do get anything done at work.

It was a favourite long before that. Blue is seen as calming and non-confrontational. That is why business suits are usually blue.

interesting :) . just to add: RyanAir has yellow in their theme, based on the Whatsapp experiment I really not pretty sure if they do have yellow colour inside their airplanes, but if they do, I guess it is for a sales reasons or it just came that way not intentionally

Yes I can confirm, RyanAir plane interiors are predominantly yellow. This contributes to a positive experience for the passengers. Yellow is associated with sunshine, hope, laughter, warmth, happiness, and energy. Yellow is found to make a person feel spontaneous and happy. A splash of yellow on anything dull or dark can make a person feel cheerful and optimistic.

What is the most powerful color that one can percieve, or experience? What is the heaviest color, what is the less than measureable color? Whats a favorite blue? Reading past tense is READ, pronounced RED.

I don't know why arranging by colors should be more efficient than arranging by phone screen by most-used apps in the front etc.. When I got to this point I quit listening to this lecture. By the way , I don't like red, that may be another reason I had some bias against this speaker... That's also psychological...you may say😊

I would like to speak about an other subject that is not very different of your subject... the power of music's sounds which is different of the power of it words Nb : why you didn't explain the differences of seeing the same color between girls and boys . I dont think that it happens because of chromosomes ?
