Ah yes the common misconception! Where that has been debunked! When that phrase is said he is not talking about murder but abandonment. The man actually left his town away from all family just to be with Daisy making it why he can't afford a carriage.

I found this video because I was very curious on its meaning because people on Tiktok made it sound creepy, but it's actually an adorable song, and the IBM 704 kinda got me into looking at other old computers because they are great history, thanks for making this video, loved it 💛

Ive been told from records that bell labs has, it wasn't actually the IBM 704 that sung daisy bell, but a IBM 7094 or 7090, or a computer in that series.

From this video this was a 704 but yes there has been recording of a 7094 but the history is way to difficult to be found due to lack of resources

Everyone is talking about this being creepy but I found this video because I'm just obsessed with the IBM 704 and early speech synthesis in general, plus obviously Chipspeech and Dandy 704 (a character based on the IBM 704) as you can probably tell from my picture. Idk I just think that he sounds adorable and so does VODER.

Just a piece of criticism coming from a guy who also has a deep voice: I 100% believe that if you didn't add that raspiness to your voice while you record your audio that it would sound miles better. You have an amazing voice behind that added raspiness. Please use your real voice because it will get you very far on youtube. Hope this helped :)

This video is really useful for me, I've been working on a fiction story based off of the original computer that sung the song. I'm really trying to find what happened to the computer after it sang the song. With that amount if significance you'd think it would be put into a museum.

Fun fact: In the show Recess, Mikey (the chubby blonde kid) actually sings Daisy Bell. Another point that reminded me of the show was HAL 9000 because in an episode, there's a computer called SAL 9000 which also sings a song when it's being deactivated, but it wasn't Daisy Bell

I heard this song from memes, and I didn't know this song was 100+ years old. Notably, many people on the internet claimed this song was creepy; I'm afraid I honestly have to disagree because the original one is creepier as its phonographs sounded distorted back in the 19th century. Lastly, how IBM's daisy bell was explained was a sad story. It's emotional to hear how this song was artificially voiced by a generous man who wanted to bring amusement and emotional impact before his death. That was a good history before electronic music became perfect in the late 60s

Well the original song sung by Katie Lawrence was stated in a news a wonderful and beautiful performance! So I think over time the robotic tune made it sound scary!!!!
