This is a photographic Documentary produced by Ed Milton and Narrated by Bob McCord, Released 1998. The Film discussed the Origin of Candler field 1909 and the transitions that occurred up to World War 2. I received this film from an old music store owner with a great history of his own. Rowe Music in Mableton Georgia. Mr Rowe, at age 90, still running his music shop lined with vintage accordions and instruments that had not sold in 50 years. He always managed to have a sample of the latest high tech keyboard on hand for as his personal use. He wasn't really worried money if he actually sold something. I asked about it and had been worried about him. He had been a WWII Army Air corp Pilot and spent his final days Training others to fly the Douglas C-124 Globe master , stationed in Warner Robins. When he got out of the military he built an Accordion and Music Shop down town Atlanta on land he held with a 99 year lease, I worried how he had the money to keep the Music Shop open, The Land he held in lease was now sitting under the Georgia Dome which created a significant income. One day he told me a story about his father, Bonnie Rowe. One of the original pioneer Air Show performers at Candler Field. He and his co-pilot would put on a show where they turned the plane upside down and one would fall out and have to parachute to the ground. Then the other would land and they would put on a Fight over who caused who to fall out of the plane. His father Bonnie is featured in this film and with pride he gave this film to me, telling the story about his dad and then the loss of his father circa 1932 when he was a young man.
