Another note about the 2003 Hot Wheels: World Race game: it still has an active speedrunning scene to this day, which is absolutely worth investigating if you're interested in seeing just how utterly broken it can get. There was also a GBA version which more closely resembled the original Mario Kart than its console / PC version.

Planet HotWheels takes me back. I remember there was a chat room feature when World Race came out; the other races you could play... There was a mini-game I was obsessed with too; the one where you were playing as a shark trying to eat other creatures and defeat a different shark... ugh, those really were the days.

Surprised you didn't mention the Hot Wheels crossover stuff in the Forza Horizon series. FH is already an open world racing game with a track creator/editor and an insane amount of vehicle customization. A few popular Hot Wheels cars like the Boneshaker and Twin Mill have appeared in the games as fully customisable cars, and FH3 and 5 both have fully Hot Wheels themed DLC expansions.

I remember playing some of the hot wheels flash games on their website, some that I remember and that you didn't show in this video are: A game based on the wall crawlers cars that had you moving things in the enviroment to get the car to the exit. It was only 3 levels long and had 4 different cars to choose from. They made a sequel to this one and I couldn't get far in that one. A game were you drive on a road on a cliff to gain speed and dodge obstacles to get to a stadium guarded by a robotic t-rex. You played as a monster truck and it was similar to the sled racing in Club Penguin. A game based on the hot wheels netflix show. You played as the kid in the yellow car and you chase down a giant bird on a beach.

I am a proud owner of a DvD that is: MotoX (if I find the DVD I could provide a video). I was a bit young to understand what the heck was going on, but despite that I had a lot of fun playing it. If I remember correctly, this is what the game had to offer: 1-3 available maps, (I always played on some sort of sand map so I'm not sure) Some customization to the bikes, And a cool promotional car. Despite being stale, it was a good time waster and had an actually pretty cool car. Considering the fact that it came from a cereal box, you get what you paid for.

I have a moto x disc too, and i found it recently, so here is some stuff! It sadly only has 1 map, which is the sandy one, the customisation is there! One game that I still count because it was made in the dark age, is the official HotWheels Roblox game. Its an open world with many upgradable cars and variations of each, all of them having different stats. Theres multiple biomes, and you can also race other players in designated tracks. The goal is to buy and complete sets of specific cars, with money you get as you drive and win races, and no, there are no funny flips (but I guess you can still try if you abuse the roblox physics engine enough)

I'll admit it, Hot Wheels: The World's Best Driver (the 3DS version specifically) is my guilty pleasure. I loved to drive around the hubworld as it expanded, mainly due to the features that unlock. Plus racing as each of the different cars, seeing how each fared on the sections of the hubworld made me play the game normally just to unlock the hubworld features, and then just play around for hours, paying no attention to the actual missions, or challenges. Plus, I actually liked the voice lines after getting used to them.

My favorite was Hotwheels beat that because I remember getting back from elementary school every day and just playing it and always screaming “BEAT THAT!!!” At the top of my lungs when the game loaded.

Ok hold up…THERE WAS A WORLD RACE MULTIPLAYER GAME!?!? How am I just now learning about this!? It looks like the game I’ve always wanted! One that was more closely based on the actual movie. I gotta find out more about this! Dude, mad props on your research!! Seriously 👍

This video really unearthed some ancient memories for me. I remember being terrified of the oil pumps in that one level of Mechanix for some reason, I would always look away when passing that part of the map. I was like 4 years old, but too stubborn to give up on it. I also recall being able to use locked cars in Bash Arena by scrolling over the one I wanted and pressing enter rather than using the mouse to click play, I felt like some kind of criminal mastermind after discovering that. Cabin Fever was always my go to. Both Stunt Track Drivers were also present, but mostly the second one. I loved the crabs in the beach level. Truly baffling to think that was 20 years ago.

Loved this video! I got pretty hyped when you mentioned the Fat Bax appearance because those silly cars were what got me into HW when I was 9. But just a brief correction: The Fat Bax were unpopular, but they are by no means rare. Last time I checked, you can easily buy all the cars for relatively cheap. Heck, the Fat Bax Silhouette you showed in the video is selling for $3.00 on ebay right now. It's not so much that they are rare, it's just that nobody wants them... except me!!! Why not, some context: In 2004, HW went a bit nuts, releasing all sorts of crazy cars (such as the Hardnoze, Blings, Tooned, and more) in a great number. Never before had a company released 100 new models in a single year. However, this discouraged a lot of the more "serious" collectors. They knew why Mattel was doing this. They needed to cater to a new generation being raised by Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon. Whacky and Xtreme were in, and if you didn't sell that, you were out. So, for the OG collectors, it was like "Really? Now I have to worry about spending money on over 100 cars to finish my collection? 100 unnecessary, ugly, cartoonish cars? WTF Mattel??" It worked, though. I fell in love with Hot Wheels specifically after laying my eyes on 2 Cool, a Hardnoze version of Evil Twin - I thought it was just the coolest thing ever. Started collecting since then. Glad to see other fans making content!

I remember being like 8-9 years old going to a thrift store and seeing 2 in the package planet hot wheels cars, that came with the CD’s on both and one of them being the deora 2 and the other one being the “chemical energy car” and it had 4 of the hot wheels games you showed and seeing that again was a real nostalgia trip. definitely subscribed.

man seeing this takes me back messing with 2003's world race on the gamecube and stunt track challenge. had a ton of fun memories just goofing around in those two games especially stunt track challenge for it's shared controller multiplayer setting. And man would be pretty cool to see ya tackle history of animated hotwheels shows. still sad about acceleracers being canned when it looked like it was taking off with another film, new cars, but importantly action figures of the drivers!?????

I played one of the hotwheels flash games not that long ago. Its still playable, but I forgor 💀 the name of it, and flashpoint (the program I found it on) removed the racing games play list it used to have.

The hotwheels battle force 5 was basically a vehicle combat game. I recently replayed it and youre darting around beating the villains of the show with its own lore. Basically the Zark, robots, team up with the vandals, the furries, and make this device which somehow combines battle zones, settings for the episodes, and throws the team around

The first Hot Wheels game and thus the first racing game I ever played was Turbo Racing on the N64. I was very young about 3-4 when I first played it. We still have the N64 with turbo racing still intact in the formal living room of our house but it hasn't been played in over 12 years. Being a child of the 00s I was primarily into the import tuner type stuff after seeing 2fast 2furious and playing Need for speed underground at the age of 6 but I also remember the Hot Wheels stuff from the era and when I turned 9 I became obsessed with Hot Wheels. I remember the flash games on the hot wheels website from 2006-2008 and I played them almost daily at one point too many to mention.

I loved Stunt Track Driver 1 & 2. I had a lot of fun with Velocity X. Had endless fun with Crash. I remember renting World Race once or twice but never getting very far. And my only experience with Micro Racers, Mechanix, and one Hot Wheels World (which you didn't cover), is a demo on some Planet Hotwheels disks my uncle gave me. I still have the disks, but they're completely useless.
