Back in 2014, I watched Godzilla in iMax and my God was it a beautiful moment when he unleashed that ungodly sound… the bass from the roar literally shook the cinema and it was a truly epic experience.

I remember going to to Xmen Days of Future Past. Godzilla was playing in the theater next door. We could hear the roar at the beginning of the final monster fight through the walls lol.

4:10-Shin Godzilla actually used old 1954 roars,and Planet Of The Monsters primarily used roars from Godzilla 2000. Both good choices in my opinion. Considering Shin Godzilla was essentially a COMPLETE Reboot. And that Godzilla after about 20,000 years,ooh boy. I won’t spoil anything but it fits.

My favorite Godzilla roars are the ones he had in 1984, 1989, and 1991, but I also really liked his 2000 roar (the one that is about 8 seconds long) and his 2014 roar.

I keep telling people that the 2014/2019 Godzilla's roar is unique, Shins roar is the original but longer, Earths roar is deeper, and the rest are all the same but added growls, but Legendary's roar takes the cake, I bet all the other Godzilla's are lookin at him like, HOLY SHIT!

I feel like i'm the only one who really takes in the intimidating ness of these roars. The producers that made the roars did really well in my opinion on getting the audience terrified and really set the mood with them.

All of the roars are awesome. I don't dislike any of them. Although, I do like some roars more than others. My top three being the Millennium Godzilla roar; number two being the roar of Burning Godzilla, and the first being the roar of Godzilla 2014.

I think his roar and his look was perfected and never duplicated again in King Kong Vs Godzilla.

Shin Godzilla roar (the 4th form) actually was heavily improved from the original 90's sound. It was separated into the 3.1 channels of audio and it resonates more, giving it scale in comparission to older roars. I think it even sounds better than the 2014 roar.

Godzilla 2014 roar when he came onto the screen and when he roared I felt the vibrations in my body, and it was AWESOME!

I liked the GMK 2000 roar the best of all, as well as the overall design of the beast. It just looked and sounded so much more savage.

The 98 roar is the only roar that sends chills down my spine. When I first heard a pure sound clip of it I felt the urge to look behind me. I can't explain why. I've herd the other roars too, but they did not spook me like the 98's roar. Sorry if it is not a popular opinion.

My personal favorites roars were the high pitched 60s & 70s roar & Zilla (1998)

Far more Iconic than the T-rex Roar. Not just saying that cause I'm a huge fan. It is just the one that echos anytime I hear it. I've heard it being used for another monster. Mostly in Pokemon, they tend to recycle some sounds for their legendaries. But for one of them, they used the very first Godzilla roar mixed in with another roar. I could hear it anywhere, and know what it is. The very first Godzilla roar, is probably my favorite. It had an amazing and surprising amount of bass to it. Making the sound back up it's size. 50 meters at the time was the largest monster the films have ever seen at the time! And the roar was able to back it up!

The T-Rex roar sounds like it was in a sense giving homage to Godzilla's roar because it almost sounds like Godzilla's stretched out. But all respect due, with the right sound system both of them will send a chill down your spine!

I feel like you should have mentioned the GMK roar, because it has a ghostly Sound to it.

I never understand people who claim the Jurassic Park roar is more iconic than the Godzilla roar. If you go to a developing country that doesn’t regularly have access to films and play the Godzilla roar, there’s a very good chance they’ll recognize it immediately. The T Rex roar doesn’t have as much character and doesn’t dip or rise in reverb. It just kinda sounds like a large blasting of sound.

I saw the movie at the Metreon IMAX in downtown San Francisco (where the movie took place) on shrooms. Me and my friend walked out of the theater expecting to see the city in ruins. It was such a great experience!

The thing with the 2014 roar is it had to be long duration whereas with all the Japanese roars you could have smaller duration ones as well which added more character to Godzilla

2014 was probably the best roar, if not the best movie. I really don't like the anime. Usually Godzilla is fighting other monsters or saving humanity, and the anime made him take over the world like wut.

The original roar, just like the original move...Gojira, the Japanese version...is the one and only one worth watching IMO.

The bass notes were the goves on a bass fiddle, the high notes were a gate at Toho Studios.
