Chain bear is single handedly the best representative of F1 for the average joe; if I were to suggest one thing however, it would be slowing down the narration just a tad. Sometimes I have to rewind because its hard for the listener to both listen and process the information at such rapid pace! Keep up the great work though, and thanks in advance Chain Bear!

The speed is perfect. Slower would make for longer videos which are less popular and seemingly more boring. If you didn't understand a part, rewind the video, come back to it and comment about which part was tricky for you to understand and we'll help down here.

Hot take, I currently find the Halo fits into the overall design of the cars pretty well, especially when teams like Ferrari and Sauber put single or multi aero winglets on the top of the bar to help with air flow. Plus it's proven it's self twice this year that it works as a safety device.

My dad always use to tell me a story of a race car driver who refused to wear the neck brace thing that stops your head shit whipping around in a crash, he wouldn't wear it because it wasn't comfortable, was ugly and he had been fine for so many years without it why did he suddenly need it, I think it was Dale Earnhardt but I'm not sure. He always used this guy as an example that safety is priceless, never leave anything to chance or disregard the safe option because it isn't cool. It's just something that stuck with me.

Very nice Video as usual. Love to watch. But you have a little mistake built in the part for Kevlar. Woven Kevlar is easily penetrated by a sharp point like a knife, so are bulletproof vest not stapproof. Kevlar stops bullet or other object with very hight tension strenght. So a "soft" bullet deforms and catches several strains of fibre and pulls at them. That will absorb more an more energy until its stops, more like a net. Sry for english mistakes, not native.

Briliant content as always! i Find interesting that post war people were used to deaths and injuries (as it was common in war) and this reflected in motorsport too... thus not much concerns for safety and it took long time to reevaluate safety and ultimately value of human life.

Great explanation - informative and entertaining. But there's just one factual doubt - I've heard that the reason drivers wore white cloth on their head in the 1930, 20s and before was to give an indication of whether they had a bleeding wound on their head following an accident. If there was bleeding, the white cloth would clearly show that.

Personally I would have thought that a series like MotoGP might be at the very top of helmet design safety given that if a rider falls off there's nothing to protect a riders from the elements barring their suit and helmet but that being said I suppose there's also been fewer head related injuries or deaths in MotoGP then F1 and F1 is constantly in the lime light when some goes wrong and a driver is seriously injured

Interesting to see the "slit" opening on the new helmets as Bell had that for Indy cars in the late 70s or early 80s (I believe Simpson offered something similar in those days as well).
