I love how nice John is, just underlines the needlessness of treating people that way
@albertbatfinder52404 жыл бұрын
John was clearly the Hole in the Ring and a prick to boot. Niceness might be OK when you’re at the zoologists, but not on this show, mate.

it's a good thing that most people who watch mitchell and webb have seen the weakest link.

Sid Morris I’ve never seen the Weakest Link and it’s still an amusing sketch. It’s probably better with background info, but a well-written skit usually doesn’t need full context to be enjoyed.
@jonathanbeesley91035 жыл бұрын
It would just be completely different. Almost every line and every detail was a direct take on something from The Weakest Link. You could still enjoy it if you haven't seen the show, but you'd necessarily be enjoying it for quite different reasons.

@@jonathanbeesley9103 everything right down to mispronouncing the questions is taken straight from Weakest Link,but it's still funny.

For anyone who didn't watch 2000s British TV, this is pretty much exactly how The Weakest Link went, but with more backstabbing between the contestants
@CLove5112 жыл бұрын
What a weird show that was. "Let's make contestants feel like garbage so the audience feels better about themselves for knowing a few basic trivia facts under no pressure." I'll take the happy barely-dodging-sexual-harassment-charges game shows from the 70s and 80s over that show, at least they made it seem like everyone was having a good time.

I loved how in the Weakest Link the contestants would start voting off the strong players to eliminate the competition and the host would try to shame the contestants. The game was pretty broke. We just watched for the insults.

One of the things I love best about Rob is when his characters misspeak or stutter because they're at a loss for words, especially when the character fancies himself to be smart.
@ValkyrieDaisy959 жыл бұрын
This has got to be Robs best character. xD The middle finger with that "Screw you" face and the fact that he kept having to turn around quickly and messing the questions up had me in tears xD!

RicAdbur I love this show (and pretty much anything Mitchell and/or Webb do), but I tend to skip through the Sir Digby skits. I guess I just find them kind of tedious.
@RicAdbur9 жыл бұрын
VICEGIRLS Really!?!? I think those Sir Digby skits are some of the cleverest and most unique comedy skits I've ever seen. Maybe to get the humor in it you have to be at least vaguely familiar with the sort of old-timey serials they're parodying, though. "IN A SOCIETY WHOSE TOOTHY FAKE SMILE IS RAVAGED BY THE PLAQUE OF DEBT AND THE VODKA BURP OF SUB-PRIME MORTGAGES, WHO WILL FLOSS INTO THE DARKEST CAVITIES OF OUR DESPAIR AND SEE IF THERE ARE ANY GOLD FILLINGS YOU CAN SWAP FOR A CAN OF PEPPERMINT-FLAVORED ANTIFREEZE? YES, IT'S THE SURPRISING ADVENTURES OF ME, SIR DIGBY CHICKEN CAESAR."
