It is important to lock the front shock on each bicycle to minimize bounce so that nothing gets unhooked. Super important point that was not made.

I just took my ebike for a haul on my CRV on holiday rack. This is a fantastic rack, sturdy the hitch tighener left zero wiggle. The tire loops really gulp the tires and hold firm. Fantastic rack. Soo glad I didn't by the famous named roll up rack!!!! The tire loop design is much better and secure. Came with a good lock cable and sinch strap. Tops tops tops.

Thank you for the BEST E-bike rack tutorial I have seen to date. I learned things I did not know about the proper installation, that applies to any rack to a vehicle, that was informative and that best protects the bike. I have the Aventon Level 2 and my hubby has a Rad Mission.

I installed a rigid LED light bar on ours (the ones for truck tailgates) and plug it into our trailer lights connection. It really helps visibility on the highway for braking & turning alerting the person behind you since these fat tire eBikes block the normal rear taillights. We took our RadRunnera on the Hollywood from CO to WA to OR and back with 0 issues. They are as good as it gets!

Outstanding video! I have a Dodge 2500 4x4 truck that is 2" lifted. I have purchased a 4" lower hitch adapter that when used with this Hollywood rack it should raise the hitch height by 2". I am not about to load bikes in the bed it's just too high and work. I wil keep the bed available for lots of beer, ice, tailgate partys, camping gear etc. Your technique for loading/unloading bikes makes it alot easier. I am buying this rack for my 2 fat tire electric bikes one Rad Rover and Lectric XP2.0. Nice thing about bikes and rack is they are made in the USA. Thank you so much for the video. $15 piece of 36 inch Angle iron cut to 17 inches each from Home Depot inserted inside the square tubing on both ends made my Hollywood rack able to handle any ebike with ease.

Great video. One of the only ones that explain how to work with the clamp downs. Most of the other’s say install them on the post before loading the bikes which makes it so difficult to work with. By adding them after the bike is loaded makes it so easy. Thank you!!

Nice review! Showing the anti-wobble feature really differentiates this from any other racks that I’ve seen.

The rack is Hollywood Racks Sport Rider for Electric Bikes HR-1500-2” Hitch Rack, 2 Bike. Seems to be sold out everywhere. Its only one that has the hitch anti wobble and is strictly for 2 inch only heads. E trailer has it under different name but when I went to order they said it was out of stock till Sept 10 HL84FR is the stock number on this model. Its worth the wait from all I see out there to hold 80 lbs bike each.

Really well done video. I was kind of taken aback by the height of the rack - glad you pointed out that most hitch receivers (including mine) are lower. I was not aware that Hollywood was including two "small wheel adapters" with this rack - the instruction manual that I found online said the adapters would need to be purchased separately. I have one of these racks on order. I knew as soon as I purchased ebikes for my wife and I that we would need a way to transport them. Well I just ordered the rack and will pick it up Wednesday along with to of the crossbars. Pretty sure it will work with my spare on the sprinter the tire is up pretty high. Got my Rad 6 plus and waiting for the Rad mini step through version 2. Great video. THANKS

The Hollywood bike carriers are not approved for use on camper, 5th wheels, trailers. Company rep told me they would fail at some point.

It seems you have the later version of rack? As the ones sold currently (2023) in Australia don't have the improvements over the series of versions Hollywood have made.

0:48 Given that Force = mass * acceleration, and the acceleration is coming from turning, bumps on the road, etc., wouldn't the force just be proportional to the mass, not the mass squared ? In any case, your point about the necessity of having a good sturdy rack for ebikes is still perfectly valid.

Great job. I just ordered a RadRover 6+ Step Through. I was trying to see if I could just toss it in the back of my SUV and I ran across this. We have the exact same Lexus, yours is also a 2005 I think, same color and all....small world...I don't suppose you've tried to put RR6 into your beast? I think in the long run this will probably turn out to be a good rack for your ebike but be aware for those with no experience with hitches or this type of rack there is a hell of a learning curve especially if you have no one to help you. I am having a hell of a time with my newly purchased $500 Hollywood Sport Rider Ebike rack. I took it to U Haul to get the hitch put on and they also put on the rack when I was away and when I came to pick it up they said "you are all set" and next to the next customer without showing how to use the rack. Now I am finding that holes don't line up with the snap hook that allows the rack to be put up against the car and other parts are very stiff and hard to pull and they key locks - there is no user manual (you really have to experiment with them to find out how to work them) just a couple of pages for assembly. I've called U Haul to make an appointment to go back and have them show me some things. When I first brought the box over unopened and left it with them they said the only thing inside beside the rack was a "few pages of an assembly guide" with "no user manual or receipt". If I can't get some satisfaction with U Haul showing me what they should have shown me (the first time) my nest step is to call Hollywood racks and I will give them an earful and will stay on it until things get fixed or I get a full refund.

Great Review. I wish I had seen this review before I purchased my rack. My rack has many of the same options but many that it does not. Its really a mountain bike rack!

That top tube adapter doesn't lock so the bike isn't really protected from theft unless you use a cable lock through the frame. All someone has to do is remove the adapter and ride off with your bike.

We’ve been carrying our two Lectric bikes for a while now on our Hollywood rack! But do you think I could get away with a few more pounds if I put my AR Grizzly in place of one of them???

I don't see how the rack tilts back to get into the vehicle cargo area. It also looks like the back won't open without the bikes in place.

I have a RAD fat tire bike just like the big one in your video, and I also have two Trek narrow tire eBikes. Does this rack work well for narrow tired eBikes also?

No you just have to make sure you license plate is fully visible and your brake lights aren't obstructed.... 😁
