The Holy Grail and Whittington Castle

Күн бұрынJoin Third Rate content as we investigate and explore Shropshires Grail castle in Whittington, in the North West of the county, very close to the Hillfort of Oswestry, the supposed birthplace of Guinevere, wife and life companion of King Arthur.
We hear the connections of the “White Castle” to the vessel used by Mary Magdalene to collect drops of Christs Blood after his crucifixion and the journey it made to Britain as the Roman Empire fell during the 5th century.

This channel is definitely named wrong! If the BBC did stuff as good as this I'd consider getting a license! Glad you did this place. I lived in a pub and worked as a zoo keeper one minute from there. The Penrhos Arms. They knocked it down 😢 I had no idea what an important castle it is. Thank you!

Thank you Paul! I’m so happy to hear you enjoyed the vid and took the time to say so. I didn’t realise the castles significance for ages 😱. Being a Zoo keeper sounds like an interesting job. Shame about the pub. I imagine there’s houses there now? License fee = complete waste of money lol

@@thirdratecontent585 zoo keeper was the best job ever! I'm not sure what's there where the pub was but you're probably right about houses!!! It was on station road. There was a butcher. Then the pub. Then a spar shop where Nikki the most beautiful woman ever, worked. I'm definitely going back to look. Thanks again for a brilliant video. I'm never getting a license 😁

lol i think he had gone back in the bookshop when I took those, I only noticed him when I was doing the edit 😂. Yes I’m with you on that theory, there was something strange and ancient about that “font”, and it’s currently unexplained disappearance adds to the mystery . A return visit is probably in order (on the Holy Grail Quest) tho I’ll wait until the tree cover comes in spring 👍
