EPISODE DESCRIPTION
In the 1920s the Osage Native Americans were the richest per capita people on the planet. Land they were forced to as part of their conflict with the American government sent them to Oklahoma. However, oil was discovered on their new land and overnight the Osage went from struggling outcasts to unbelievably wealthy.
But greed has historically led to tragedy. As the Osage became rich, violence in their community skyrocketed. This story, based on a crime spree in the early 1920s has recently been retold in both a popular book and Hollywood film, "Killers of the Flower Moon." It follows a portion of the murders starting in 1921 and going until 1926. The conspiracy behind the crimes is chilling. I have told the story as a whodunit. Follow along and learn with our investigators in order to solve the biggest case of the 1920s.

As a Oklahoma native I can say we are full of lots of people who was put here from the all sorts of reasons and all the blacks, Mexicans and any people that wasn’t white or not welcome was put in Oklahoma so that’s why we are so different then any other state or place really. You will get the Midwest feel in the northern parts of Oklahoma and the southern feeling in the southern parts and eastern parts. One other people that are here most people don’t know about are marshal islanders. I believe they came over some from when Japan took over their homeland.

@@datesanddeadguys Sorry for the late reply. She was well aware of it and had told the stories to older members of the family. It didn't weigh on her as you might think though. She moved away from Ponca city when she was a teen and would marry my grandpa who was half Kiowa. The dust bowl was going on then and soon her husband would be drafted to go overseas, so she had other pressing concerns growing up. I wish that I would have questioned her on the subject, but I was too young to appreciate that kind of subtle history, to my regret. She passed on three years ago at 96.

It is kind of like your saying that example ( a bunch thieves steals your cattle land and buildings homes food and garden and kill your grandmother) and then the calvary comes in and protects the thieves . And not the property owner... so property owners band together to defend their homes. And are referred to as a band of raiding warriors on the war path. While the thieves say we own all this . Insane right

There are instances where genocide was official policy for sure but the murders do not appear to be one of them, often even going back to colonial times the process was much more multifaceted with greedy psychotic individuals doing the down and dirty work while the state just sort of had an unofficial policy of allowing it to occur.
