I used to care for rural cemeteries in Comanche County where I grew up. Many of the grave markers stated "killed by indians" and many were small children graves and women.

Accidentally found your video. History has always been an interest of mine for as long as I can remember. My husband’s family had a picture of one of the families grandmother. The family story was she was an important female in (I think it was Cherokee??) an Indian tribe. She fell in love with one of the white men, married and had children - thus being my husband’s family history. The story was that the Indian tribe was angry she was with the white man. A group of Indian riders came to their cabin to get her back. She instructed her husband to not come out of the cabin for any reason. Apparently she knew what was coming. She refused to go with them so they cut half her ear off so all Indians will know she was white from that point on. This is told by my husband’s family, and after so many story telling I would assume it was right - all of their stories were told the same way. Interesting for sure. Appreciate your posts and you have a fan.

I lived in Arizona for most of the 1980’s. The most local tribes were Apache, Comanche and local Papago. The native Americans were so familiar with the terrain that they melted into the vast area called “Cochise Strong hold”, a labyrinth of huge boulders in which the Apache could find water, caves, and routes out to the plains. In modern times, white tourists constantly got lost in the area when they went for hikes. What a Hardy, determined people.

The Comanche were warriors and horsemen of excellence. Even the Apache were afraid of them. They raided the whites in Texas and the Mexicans across the border. They wanted land, beef, horses, women and any children they could find to adopt into the tribe. They used every aspect of their environment as offensive and defensive tactics. Fires, floods were used against their enemies. Read the excellent book”Empire of the Summer Moon”.

You mean she died in 1839 and not 1939. Got confused on that one. Thanx for a great story but sad. However, one shouldn't forget what was done to the Indians. Peace to all. ❤

Theres ALOT of unkempt, uncivilized land in America still. Its entirely possible that theres still a small group of natives living out there somewhere doing what theyve done for 500 years.

The European people were the invaders, the Indians were the indigenous people. They basically used terrorism to frighten white settlers off, they had little else to use as negotiated treaties were not worth the paper they were written on. History repeats it's self,we in the UK are at present being invaded by illegal migrants,no different to the problem the American indians had, they didn't like it, and neither do we.

It would be so interesting to watch Aliens arrive on Earth with far superior weaponry. They would just start claiming land, pushing humans out of their areas where they would build COLONIES and enslave, rape and humiliate humans who try to defend their territory. Then the humans would probably have a little pow wow, come up with a plan of retaliation and be almost completely annihilated by Lazer guns and weaponized alien drones.

I’ve always been taught that the natives were peaceful people throughout North America, including Canada where I live but it doesn’t take you long to realize they were a bunch of savages. They were constantly fighting each other. They couldn’t get along one bit and it continues today. And just a note, there has not been one body dug up in an unmarked grave like the natives of claimed to have happened in Canada residential schools for natives ran by Catholics

On northern great plains at that same time period. The western Lakota sioux indian warrior people. Well during there encampment in the Kansas and Nebraska region. Many of their warriors had to keep a close eye out for unexpected sudden Pawnee Indian attacks! Who wanted to steal the young Lakota sioux indian girls away! The would do the same kind of very terrible acts of human hunger, cannibalism on poor innocent victims! The very true oral stories of the seven council fires of the once powerful Great sioux Indian nation. My great inspiring for today. Have a great fabulous wonderful day.😀

So how is the attitude of the Comanches any different from the attitude YOU would have if a whole population of say the Russians or Chinese suddenly invaded and claimed YOUR land for their own! You’d be right out there with your automatic rifles and your good old boys in their pickups (instead of riding horses) mowing them down. There was NO rule of law or destiny that gave white invaders the privilege of stealing the Comanches’ or anyone else’s land!!!

I think the fact that she killed women and children of the tribe kinda gives validity to the claim that they butchered her infant. If she’s traumatized from that, then getting horrifically abused by not only her captors, but the women and children of her captors, she’s gonna be out for blood. It’s all horrible and completely unnecessary. There was more than enough land to go round and many ways to make it fair
