Ever seen Top Gear? Know of Jeremy Clarkson? Me neither! Here's a review of a helicopter and some speed testing at the end! The Full Throttle Playlist! • Full Throttle!
How on Earth had I not played DCS before now?! Suffice it to say I've been playing it A LOT since discovering it!

Depends, some of the models have that system swapped for an outboard FOTV projection system for early morning post-napalm strike operations.

SAR Huey still flying here in Germany. I live next to EDLP airport and the rotor noise is really unique nowadays.

And like 2 dozen minor nations. The Huey is a cheap, relatively reliable helicopter so plenty of places still use them. It’s also a hell of a lot more modern than its Eastern Block counterparts (especially the Mi-8).

I live near an air national guard base, and while it's neat to see the UH-60s and CH-47s every now and then nothing gets me going like that THUMPTHUMPTHUMPTHUMP of the UH-1H... As for functionality > comfort, that was the entire design philosophy of the USSR and even now of the RUAF. The Huey's fine just as it is.

As a grandson of a army master aviator that had 3200 hours in the Huey I can tell you that he would always get misty eyed when he would talk about how the durability and reliability of the Huey that it would always bring him home no matter what.

It makes me sad as a child I was forchunate Enough to be able to be in in and out of these things whenever I was around one and have several models from my childhood of this beautiful helicopter. It will be sad that kids will never hear the thoop thoop thoop of these things in person.

Fun fact, you can glide a helicopter if the engine fails as long as the rotor is able to turn and you can control the collective.

The later UH-1N had two turbines. In the longer run, they stopped skimping and installed an outboard generator as well to spin up 4 blades instead of 2 for the UH-1Y

I honestly think in one aspect you were too hard on the bird. Had the opportunity to fly in a Huey as a birthday present and didn’t get any shaking. When we went into banks the were some vibrations but nothing extreme. This could be a case to case thing but nonetheless. Thoroughly enjoyed the video! Keep it up! Even though this video is a year old…

Would love to hear your clarion review of the westlands Lynx mk3 or 8. 2 engines, 6 seats in the rear, 250+ knots speed and very nibble in ear. Watch the Wildcats helicopter display team. Personal fav worked on them for 5/6 years.

The huey has just as much armor as other twin engine alternatives. They've just chopped it up into really really small chunks and stuffed it into the ammo boxes by the door gunner. Your welcome. Disclaimer: I know this isn't how mass savings actually works for aircraft performance, this was just a joke. Please don't think I'm so dumb to believe that 1kg in the form of ammo is any different than 1kg of armor as far as performance is concerned.

It’s a heck of a trip if you’re an adrenaline junkie! However, the parts of the review about the noise, shaking, bone damage and intestinal discomfort are all legitimate 🤣😂🤣
