i think the creator's idea was to reinforce the idea that Boruto is living in a time of peace. We know its not going to stay that way, alot of things will change drastically and for us to feel the gravity of the change first we need to see how it was before. And peace is naturally boring.

Completely agree. The issue here is that the story touches too closely to Naruto, who we ALL want to see instead. If this had been some other thing, set in the same universe it would've worked MUCH better. Not everything has to be on a grand scale. Why not have a small little story about how people were affected by the war as it was going on? But nah.

Natasha Shook honestly I believe that having Naruto and Sasuke as MCs for “Boruto” could just be mostly about dealing with people that want things to go back like 30 years ago where there is a constant fear of war and death. My thoughts exacly, we already saw a world ending threat and the birth of the two strongest shinobi, if they made a series in the same universe but with new characters, a smaller scale and the ocasional cameo from the old characters it would be really good.

Exact my thought! It would have been better with a clean slate, with it Kishimoto can write a more interesting and original character without ruining the concept. It would also have a better chance of capturing both the older and newer fans. Most importantly, for those of us who have been there since the very beginning, the whole series is kinda sacred. Not because we are tired of the franchise, but more because of our emotional attachment to the original story and the characters.

I mean, tbf a lot of Naruto's generation were nearly clones to their parents (Shikamaru, Choji, Naruto is basically Minato with Kushina's quirks etc) it's just the two protagonist's parents are dead and others (e.g. Sakura, although she's a Tsunade clone with less boobs and a Sasuke addiction instead of gambling) we never meet so it's not obvious, whereas in Boruto most of the parents are the cast from the previous show, so it's more pronounced.

How amazing was the arc where naruto made his own jutsu as Rasenshriken. Have them do that more. After 100 episodes or something have Mirai, after leaving AMBU, give her a team to train. A team that has Boruto and Sarada. And watch Mirai's journey to become the next hokage. Sarutobi clan needs more love!!!!!

The thing is, Boruto has wya too many fillers, that’s the whole reason why this show kind of sucks. I get the point that it’s supposed to be about Boruto and his rise to greatness but right now, nothing just moves on. Even after Episode 85, we’re getting filler again and there’s another one after the ChoCho arc, it’s just so stupid. People are leaving this show since nothing even happens. People say, oh, just wait until the better arcs, you can’t exactly wait os long just for a key point. Honestly, why do we even need filler, it’s pointless. Character development is also stupid as the show is trying to get the other side characters to get some light and screen time but half the time, they aren’t evne key to the original point. I have no problem with Boruto being overpowered(unless he get’s a rinnegan in his left eye or some bs) but it’s getting harder and harder for me to keep watching this show at this rate

It's simplistic thinking that is actually realistic for a child to think and gives the series room to grow upon. Boruto, I haven't watched in a long time because I got bored. But essentially Boruto seemed pretty strong, had some eye stuff going on (so even stronger than he already was), and started out as the son of the super popular hokage who has kept peace for so long. To be honest, I wonder If Boruto should be more of a slice of life anime. We've had our share of tragic backstories and earth shattering villains. To prevent senseless power crawl, why not shift the conflict inwards? Personally, I view Naruto's story as the story of my parent's generation with obvious challenges easily symphatised with. They lack means not determination. They are obstructed by others not themselves. Our current generation is privelaged. We have all the means but none of the heart. Our spirit suffers and our challenges more sublime and less glorious. We battle ourselves more than we struggle in life. Which is why Boruto's should carry a more personal aproach to conflict and plot.

I think Boruto is actually Naruto's grandfather and Minato's Dad. He was part Uchiha but his bloodline didn't pass down to Minato meaning that he couldn't awaken the sharingan and neither could his offspring Naruto. I also heard that Boruto will be getting a series centering around growing up as an uchiha and his responsibleity as the next clan head.

I would watch that though. It would make more sense than a next generation thing where several characters are OP and there's no real way to progress the story. Sure 100 years later might feel like a "Naruto reskin" but it would almost guaranteed be better than this shit. Hell, the main characters could even be related to the Uchihas and Uzumakis. That gives the connection to the original series.

Sammy Dray everyone says that but I have not found one thing about super that is remotely good about it. All I see is a very watered down version of Z with lack of action and no violence or barely any at all. At least boruto has great fights and continuation of the naruto subplot which is basically an alien invasion

wadafefe I'm not saying that Super is top tier shit or anything like that and I agree that it a severely watered down version of Z. But here is the thing. The first 2 arcs mattered. The fights in those arcs while movie rehashes, had some peril attached to it. They meant something. If Goku hadn't fought Beerus in God Form and impressed him, the world would have been destroyed. If Golden Freeza would have won, say bye bye to Earth (even though the existence of Beerus downplays the threat but its still a threat). Both arcs had some fantastic moments too (as well as a LOT of problems). What I am trying to say is that miniscule as it was, the first 2 arcs of Super actually did something to move the plot forward. That is not the case with Boruto. We have crossed the 30 episode mark and nothing new is here. These past episodes have been nothing but fillers and dont bring anything to the story and we still have the movie rehash to go through. The fights in Boruto might look pretty but they mean nothing. No progression at all. The reason people watch in anticipation is because they wait for story to move towards the Kawaki stuff. When watching Boruto my first thought isnt "What will happen next??" but "Can we get to this part already??" Boruto is dragging its feet tooo goddamn slow. Super got a lot of hate for movie rehashes but Boruto hasn't even got to the rehash yet!! Another thing that annoys me (aka personal opinion) about Boruto is how they portray Naruto as an absent father. I mean seriously??? You mean to tell me that the guy who was willing to go the moon for his would be wife and her sister, the guy who went through hell and back for the sake of his all but in blood brother, the guy who held love for a village even though said village despised him all through his childhood... THAT guy woukd become a neglectful parent?? Especially the fact that he was orphan, you would think he would be overbearingly affectionate towards them not the other way round!!!!! Also srsly?? Too busy working?? Naruto can make THOUSANDS of Shadow Clones at the same time but couldn't create one to work at the office for him?? He made one to attend his daughter's birthday when he simply could have left work to his clone and gone himself!!!! WHAT KIND OF BULLSHIT WRITING IS THAT!!!!!! They made Naruto a dumbass douche just so that Boruto could have some sort of "struggle". GTFO..... Super while quite bad isnt just plain disrespectful (most of the times..)
