The first lesson in chess. We all lose games. Even world class prodigies lose games. That was a cracker. I am sure Prag will be even stronger for the lesson. Thanks, Antonio, as always for the exposition and the commentary.

It figures Pragg would move the bishop to e7 cutting off escape squares for Mishra’s king but Bf4 did look ideal than when Bishop captures e5 it would’ve helped Pragg create better offensive threats

Every great player looks down the barrel, they come back hard and ferocious. Ding and Pragg are going through the same patch. Alireza is going through it since the last 2 years, Magnus has had bad form multiple times, so did Fabi. Hikaru is the best, he loses to 1900's wearing a pink shirt.

I think that in that Critical Position that layers like Fischer, Kasparov and Tal would have taken much more time as they would have instinctively sensed the vulnerability of the Black King and would have worked out how to do it. As Boris Spassky once said' There is in every game a moment when it is the Critical Position which requires one to look at all possibilities in depth. The problem lies in that no one is just quite sure when that Critical Position occurs. Prag needs to take a look at some of Spassky's games as her sure did know when the CP occurred.

Pragg is a wonderful player but he does have a tendency to over push without a concrete idea. This game similar to that v Gukesh in candidates where he had Gukesh on the ropes but couldn’t find winning sequence of moves (Gukesh defended exceptionally). It’s what makes Pragg’s games so fun though.

Great game between two of my favorite young players. Both have an incredibly aggressive play style. Abhimanyu played brilliantly in the US Championship with nearly as many wins as Fabi who won. Played all in just like here. He was on the C squared podcast then as well. Great interview, well worth watching.
