Yep. I'm hyped for this one. Percy Jackson. I'm ready. This is probably the last trailer and they went out with a bang. So let's talk about it and get ready for the show to debut!

So I saw the comic con clips, and the opening narration of "Look, I didn't want to be a half blood. Being a half blood is scary, most of the time it gets you killed in painful nasty ways..." is in the show. It opens up the first episode. After this and a few flashbacks, we go right into the show, and the narration stops, and the rest is communicated in the acting and dialogue

I'm shocked by this. I thought the casting for Sally was perfect. She gives off the right vibes. She's one of the characters I'm most looking forward to.

I think so too. When she said, "Perseus! Hold fast. Brave the storm.", I got goosebumps. And these are just clips. We haven't seen the whole show yet. It's not right to judge her acting from just these few clips.

I knew when Walker Scobell was cast as Percy that the show was gonna be good and that he can actually act just pirely based off his performance in The Adam Project and the "Kraft commercial" skit.

Rick Riordan wrote the entire script for episode 1. He said so in one of his blogs he's been heavily involved in this one so it's going to be good.

Annabeth had a crush on Luke but Luke saw her as his little sister. At the end luke got a little weird. That threw me off but I think for the show they’ll stick to the first premise

tbh i hoped they keep that weird and disgusting side of luke, where he feels things about annabeth, his actor is very handsome and he’s getting a lot of praise already and the show haven’t even airs so i do need people to see how creepy, manipulative, and evil luke was because that’s part of his character and if they decide to erase it they will tuned him down i wouldn’t like that everyone needs to see the real luke

@@hoaxtays there gonna get rid of it. This was not an intended part of his character. Rick just made of mistake without thinking. People struggle with idea that luke is a hero and this is a main reason. Rick believes luke is a hero and has to sell it. That’s hard when people don’t think he’s a pedo.

@@three-moons6036 im pretty sure it is an intended part of his character because it didn’t happened just with annabeth it happened with silena too luke used his looks for getting what he wanted so i hoped they keep that part of him in the show but erased the whole “he died like a hero” and “he was a good person”

@@hoaxtays all he did with Silena was ask her to do this knowing she would say yes. And that’s entirely different from if he had romantic feelings towards her. What your trying to erase is clearly something Rick wanted. What I want gone is something rick made a mistake on and didn’t want. You can’t get rid of Luke being manipulative or doing bad things. That would be a disservice to a great character. But you can get rid of thing that don’t make sense and/or we’re a mistake. Rick isn’t perfect.

@@three-moons6036 but that’s my point him having romantic feelings for an annabeth is canon and it’s gross? Yeah absolutely but as i said it is part of his character and not as a mistake, rick wrote it on purpose, luke was a bad, weird, and evil dude and a predator so yeah i don’t want that side of him being erased because it’s canon it happened so instead of acting as if nothing is wrong if they just erased i want them to keep that part because it is important for his character

Idk. I feel like he’s being to judgmental on the actors abilities based on a 5 second appearance in the trailer. Wait until you actually see them in the show before judging.

You are completely sleeping on Toby Stephens. He’s by far, the safest casting choice, especially considering the showrunners are also responsible for Black Sails, a show Toby carried. Basing an opinion on a 2 second clip is just insane to me.

Especially that being his first acting role too. Hopefully he can do a cameo in Deadpool 3 as Kid Pool. He did recite all the lines from Deadpool 1 in front of Ryan

I was at Comic-Con, and they do have Percy narrating quite a bit. “I didn’t want to be a halfblood” is epic in the show!

actually the vfx effect team explained that they did the minotaur run in all fours bc the show is supposed to be for kids mostly and as you say running in all 4 would make it less scary for the kids

I definitely agree with your view on Sally in the show. I hope ur wrong on how she’ll be portrayed and they just so happened to show her most dramatic moments in the trailer.

When the show was announced I was skeptical and the 1st teaser didn't help so I ignored later news, but after watching this trailer the quality surprised me and raised hope. Also Edge as Ares is perfect and I think he looks cool and intimidating, but my one issue is them removing his fire eyes. I guess it might be due to lacking enough time and money for it, the proposed effect looking too jarring/fake, or contract clauses. I still wish this could've been animated, but what we've gotten looks decent and I hope it won't run into the pitfalls of streaming/YA shows and is consistent.

The one thing that killed me though is that Chiron was supposed to be a white stallion, and he is brown. Apart from that, I cannot wait for the series to come out! Though I have to admit, the main reason I'm excited is so that I can force my friends that don't read to watch it.

I agree that he gods are deadbeats but like come on… Poseidon is the best of the gods (save for Dyonysis) and it was CANONICALLY confirmed that Poseidon has sent Nereids and Cyclops to check on Percy every now and then.

I agree with you on Sally's lines being wooden, like who talks like that to their kid 😅😂😂. The writing is already bad for her but the actress adds onto it cuz it feels like she's reading from a script, more than anything.

I'm completely happy and excited with everything I've seen so far, with the exception of the actress who plays Sally and I agree with your take on her. In the museum scene she's very stiff, emotionless. While talking to Percy, in a very "mother and son" moment, I missed her at least petting his head, pulling Percy closer to her while saying that she hopes he has a happy ending, but instead she's just standing there. I didn't feel that motherly warmth. In the beach chalet scene she doesn't have any facial expression that conveys a little more emotion. In the minotaur scene however, perhaps this will change. Overall I thought the acting needed to improve but of course I'm not being very fair by judging random scenes, so let's hope it was just a bad impression.

The Ares fight does look very… weird. The background looks obviously green screened, and Ares himself looks like a guy who just joined a biker gang and is still learning the ropes 😂. Maybe that’s how Percy sees him so they’re going for that, but I was hoping he’d be much more intimidating. As for Sally, yeah she does feel wooden and emotionless, even in her facial expressions. Hard to make a judgement on a few lines, but those are some very important lines.

Tbf Percy makes it very clear that Ares really wasn’t trying against him. He was holding back a lot, just toying with Percy until Percy stabs his ankle, from which point he gets super pissed off and is about to invoke his godly power… until the crooked one intervenes

I liked it a lot, but still don't like the looks of the main cast. I think the kid that plays Percy gives me more Jason(but child) vibes, he doesn't convince me. And of course, Annabeth being the complete opposite of what the books said. Grover is fine, I don't have many issues with him. I imagined him with a pale skin and reddish hair, but it's ok I really hope the final result overcomes this and it looks it will deliver
