The Hypercar With No Gearbox - Koenigsegg Regera!!

I'm getting to drive the first delivered Koenigsegg Regera. This car has no gearbox and is hybrid with 1500HP! The car uses The Koenigsegg Direct Drive transmission (KDD) and replaces the combustion engine’s traditional transmission.

I have always been a BUGATTI fanboy, and while I personally prefer the Chiron over any Koenigsegg; I have to admit that the Regera just beats both Divo and Chiron in almost every aspect, hands down Koenigsegg, the best and yet One of the most underrated hypercar brands.

You can drive electric car, or car with CVT gearbox, to get the feeling...albeit much much much more slower though..

a Yes it has a torque converter. The 1:1 means it's a 1 to one ratio direct drive from the torque converter and the torque converter was made by the kit car builder who builds these cars himself.

I happen to be a owner of a 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid that uses the same concept, but I only have 212 Hp, darn! There is a great You Tube video on Engineering Explained that goes over in detail how my Honda Hybrid has no Transmission and compare’s this to this over priced supercar!

The good thing about a 1.5 million car is that you can style it however you want to. If you want Koenigsegg to sew pink ponies into the seats or paint the car with diamonds, or i guess, change the air vents, they will. The standard air vents is just in the "analog meets digital" spirit the whole car works in.

shittywife Hybrid just means that it has a normal engine with gears, and an electric motor usually on the front wheels that has 1 gear. The Regera is special because it has a normal engine with no gearbox. Look it up before you spread fake news

Electric motors are gearless by nature, because they give 100% torque from 1 RPM. The reason is that this is amazing, is because combustion engines don't work that way at all. They have a power curve, its like trying to start your petrol engine in 6th gear, it just doesn't work.

Takamusasu gear boxes are like condemns. Not but an impediment and obstacle with regards to attaining true closeness and intimacy with one's car. All electric cars are the future. No gear box's no issues with oxygen starvation, lower centers of gravity, greater acceleration... this regera has me tits out, up and in love.

The panels that move are operated hydraulically, not electrically. . So, unless you run the engine to recharge the hydraulic accumulator, eventually you will run out of hydraulic pressure and the panels will not operate any more.. . So I guess the trick is NOT to keep opening and closing the thing, without running the engine once in a while to recharge the hydraulics.

From all the cars in the world ever my favorite has been these Koegnesegg doors. They are definitely one of a kind doors first it was the Lamborghini doors. But then I saw these Koegnesegg ones and they are definitely one of a kind. I just love it too how you can press the button to open them up. No need to use your strength to do so. Also because others and most of the super and hyper cars have really heavy doors. But then came along the Koegnesegg and they built them up to open with the press of the button. I just wish all super and hyper cars had that on their keys. It really does help out a lot to have them being like that. Specially because they are really expensive cars. It would be like having one of them and not having alarm on them. Also if they would all have that on them it can help out if someone had their hands full. That way they can just press the button and their would be no need to put down your stuff on the ground. Or having to go put them on the back of the car or the roof. That way you just would need to have a finger unoccupied to open them up. That is a very nice detail that those cars should have like I said they are expensive cars so having that on them adds up to the great production details on them.
