This is my personal favorite because i had the best bus driver and she drove IC CE Gasoline and I remember liking the engine sound and when i get off the bus i hear that amazing exhaust sound. I miss riding these i hope next school year i get to ride these, I'm keeping my fingers crossed

I miss get on these buses...I remember the first time I got on one these and that was in summer school...Anytime the driver drives me to school or home, I love hearing the sound of the engine of the ic ce school bus when it goes or slows down

Y’all still got MaxxForces? (known to most as MaxxNoises) I loved those engines, uhh, when they were running well. Very cantankerous, but if they were happy, I was happy.

The 2005 IC CE300 2nd Generation has the Early 1980's DT466 7.6L Diesels. I love the color of the blue for that one, it gets a lot of power.

It’s going to be very interesting to see if IC begins to use the upcoming CUMMINS ISB gasoline engine. It would certainly make sense since it would fit in the same design platform.

IMO the gas engine also should be offered on the 4300 chassis for applications like box trucks

@@LegoWormNoah101the CE (a durastar) is rated to 33,000 lbs. the same chassis is rated between 29,000 and 44,700 pounds (frame and axle limited respectively).

Don’t forget mileage will also be worse. With a diesel, you’re looking at probably 8 mpg- 10 probably at most. But a gasser would probably get about 5 or 6 mpg

With the gas engine you will not have any issues with DPF or SCR though, since they are not required to have of that crap.

I drive one of these busses currently (same year and model). Anyone else having issues fueling? We have to position the gas pump just right, upside down, and barely squeeze the handle in order to not have the gasoline spew all over the place, this obviously takes alot of time, Anyone find a solution for this?

All who think bad mileage forget the 304 got 10 mpg in the 60s in a bus. I had 1 and also forget the high torque low rpm binder has always had in gas moters

Hey WOW man, like I had NO idea, is this a new engine or is this aluminum block or is this basically a automobile engine or is it a modified diesel? and the biggest question, did you protect the fuel tank from things being driven into IT...?

It’s based on a Vortac 8100 (L18). Fantastic engine. As for tank intrusion, after the Carrollton collision (the location of which I used to pass routinely), they have certainly increased protections by leaps and bounds, both in tank design, and in the chassis, and added automated fire suppression systems.

Completely separate companies, though since PSI is public, Navistar/Traton/Volkswagen could very well be a shareholder. And the industry loves muddling waters, like Western Stars built with Mercedes Benz parts, that look like Freightliners, with “Detroit Diesel” motors. Or in International’s case, the ProStars (a fantastic truck) have the A26 motor as an option, which is just a MAN (another Traton company) D26. But unlike Daimler, the D26 is an excellent motor.

Gasoline provides enough power without the turbo, it'll be faster than the diesel without the turbo

lol we have a 2021 Gas ICCE and it SUCKS! the transmission is so Rough when shifting and flooring it it does a 0-60 in about 28 seconds! I Remember the Cummins engines were Basically indestructible and it actually had power! (we need power in our route) And The shifting is like you hit a bump. The trans shifts, and you bounce! I Like the IC Brand, But i Hate the 8.8L Gas Engine paired with The Trans!

Allisons are rubbish at shifting anyways, now I can’t speak for these engines, but Cummins diesels are fairly torquey across a good band, the smaller displacement versions of these have less torque (all gasoline engines do) and have the horsepower at the top end. Side note to level the field, the ISB is woefully underpowered for these applications, the ISL9 ought to be used.

Idk what Cummins you've drove by the isb is weak AF especially compared to these granted we have bluebirds with the ford 7.3 and it's a beast.
