I noticed this too. Very surprising to not mention Renee Walker in summarizing Season 7 and Season 8 but it does leave some mystery concerning Jack's motives for those who haven't seen the last season.

Amanda Read She's a key plot character. HE ALMOST ASSASSINATED THE RUSSIAN President for her. I don't think there was any reason to leave her out. That's true love right there. (This coming from a guy's opinion of love btw.)

Best part of 24 is how Jack Bauer is able to magically not get stuck in traffic in LA for at least on hour; although I did like it when they had him drive 15 minutes and you saw a quick shot of him, on the side of the screen, sitting in traffic then wigging out, while the terrorists are doing something interesting.

Honestly liked every season. Even seasons 6, 7 and 8. Everyone says season 6 is the worst but it’s in my top 5 tbh

Thoughts from a 24 Junkie... Season 1 was awesome and so different from anything on TV. Season 2 was awesome. "Not a great season"...really? It won the Golden Globe for best drama series! Season 3 was great too--I think the last 6 episodes were some of the best the show ever had. Many people loved season 4. I didn't, but it had its strong points. Season 5 was fantastic and won the Emmy for drama series. Six was garbage. Just garbage. Season 7 was MUCH better on second viewing and is one of the stronger seasons. Season 8 was up and down for me, but pretty weak. Still, I'm psyched for May 5th... JACK IS BACK!

yes at the beginning of the first few episodes in season 1 starts with a black screen with Jack narrating "the following takes place between 1:00 pm, and 2:00 PM. Events occur in real time" or whatever time the episode takes place and each season is 24 episodes

ira kest However this season (9) works a little bit differently. The season does take place in one day, but there is only going to be 12 1-hour episodes, when in the past there was 24 1-hour episodes. In other words, extra time is going to pass in each episode.

ChOcOsTaR27 It may mean that some characters will actually get to bed at a reasonable hour, rather than having to stay up for 24+ hours (and yet still looking fresh and inexplicably able to make rational decisions at the end of the story).

Renee Walker? In my opinion the last season was very memorable. Especially after Renee died. Jack goes on a rampage by himself was the best moment in the entire show. Remember how Logan was like 'IT'S JACK BAUER!!!! HE'S COMING FOR ME!!!!'

It's an enjoyable show so it doesn't matter what other people think about it. If you like the show, you like it. Many old fans and new are excited for the premiere. Plus as much as I love the show it was ridiculous everything happens in 24 hours. Just driving from place to place takes 15 minutes or more, but the extreme pressure, tension, drama, action, and kickass Bauer made up for it.

Veronica Cordova It's incredibly thrilling, though I'd be a bit more concerned with how the country's morale must be after going through so many terrorists attacks every few years while their presidents were either assassinated or forced to resign. We went through, what, 7 Presidents in the show, and only David Palmer served a full term in office? Probably not the best thing to think about...

Mst3kfan1994 Haha very true. I would think our morale would probably be in shambles honestly. On top of that when Logan was President he was the most corrupt and weak asshole the show ever had as President and a nuclear attack that happened in LA was seriously extreme. David Palmer was awesome and when he was killed in the show I was distraught. I think 24 overall had many crazy moments but most of the main plots were ridiculous in that it was absurd and even depressing in reality.

I love Screen Junkies but this was not a good summary... Season 2 was awesome it even won the emmy for best series, without including kim´s plot (which only lasted half of the season then she dissapears) it was the best season along with season 5. And even do after season 5 the series is not that great it still fun to watch and it has some great moments like the last 8 episodes of season 8 when Jack goes phsyco, that was one of the best moments of the series

Season Seven was an awesome season! The way they killed off Bill Buchanon in that season and there was no mention of that character in this summary and he was a great character to watch. There was also the scene in Season Two where Jack interrogates a terrorist by having him witness the death of his sons on satellite television. That was an intense scene. Still enjoyed the review! Thanks for the that!

This show was awesome, even at its worst. I'll take its most ridiculous season over the best season from any CSI, Law and Order, or any of the terribly mishandled fantasy shows on network TV. Even compared to the superior efforts from pay cable, 24 deserves a place with the greats, especially because they maintained the excitement over and over again for 24 episodes a season, instead of the pay cable norm of 10 to 16.

You failed to note the "go to" plot point the writers used for Kim Bauer's plotlines whenever they couldn't think of anything better: "Kim takes a shower." They described her as "the cleanest character on television.

My favourite seen from 24 has got to be Jack's 'Terms of Enrampagement' moment at the end of season 1, when Nina tells him Kim was found dead in the harbour and he goes all Jack Bauer on them and kills Victor Drazen! Most awesome seen in the entire franchise!

I don't think you give seasons 2 or 8 enough credit. I loved Season 8, thought it was a great redemption for 6 and 7. I was very angry when Renee Walker died, and I can't believe you guys didn't even mention her! She was a huge role in 2 seasons. And Jack goes on the most brutal rampage in the history of the show.

I always thought that the second season of 24 should have been the very next day. It would have consisted entirely of Jack sleeping, getting up once to go to the bathroom and microwave a burrito, and then going back to sleep.

You got all the very basics in with a lot of important info left out. I feel like if a person who never watched 24 saw this they would still be lost. And while season 5 was the best season, 7 and 8 were fantastic as well. The ending was great.

You left out how season 8 pretty much ramps up hope that Jack is going to have a life when he leaves NYC, and systematically destroys it in the final episodes. I don't know why I didn't see that coming, but man, it kinda stunk ass when his gf gets killed, he gets framed, can't prove he's innocent, get beat to a bloody pulp and then has to go on the run... I mean, as far as depressing endings go, I can't think about a movie or tv series that was more depressing than that. They set up hope after hope throughout the season that after all the shit Jack's been through so far, he's finally going to get some happiness (a new possible wife, time with his daughter and granddaughter, so in other words, he'd have a family again, and he'd finally have some peace...) and then BAM! No! We're going to finish this season by sinking Jack to the lowest level he's been so far. THE END. :facepalm: It was realistic... in the sense that sometimes in life shit happens, and even when you think things are about to change... even worse shit happens, but man... that was the harshest, most depressing finale I've ever seen. Good... but very harsh and depressing. Have to say... really looking forward to the new one, but I'm not holding my breath.

What actually bothered me the most in season six is how they gloss over the fact that Jack was tortured by the Chinese for over 2 years without breaking. Two years! They should be applauding him and giving him medal after medal but no.. he comes back, gets a pat on the back, and then asked to sacrifice his life. What a joke.

That was something that really bothered me as well. They showed us the severity of his torture...all the scars, his hand getting burnt, but aside from the first couple of episodes, Bill and everyone pretty much forgot he'd been tortured for 2 years and not said one word.

My favourite 24 scene has got to be Jack's 'Terms of Enrampagement', in the last episode of season 1, when he was told by Nina Kim had been found dead in the harbour and he goes all Jack Bauer Beast Mode and takes out Victor Drazen and his men!

Season 2 is one of my favorites -- George Mason, Jack's phone call to Kim, etc. Even the cougar is a legend (much better than Teri's amnesia in season one!)

Yes, but they're not spies. James Bond is a british secret agent, Jason Bourne is an assassin and Jack Bauer is a federal agent. A spy's job is to obtain secret information but (as far as i know) that's it. They don't go to destroy plans or assassinate people, they just bring information about them. Still, they're great characters.

Jack is always either whispering complex instructions (Chloe, take four bratinoids to the spluchrome center and tell bill to graminate the stricktograms) or shouts like a mad man (DROP YOUR GUUUUN!). Perhaps this season he will have a dynamic mid-range. Emotionally as well.

Season 8 had one of the best scenes in the series. Said scene is where Jack goes all one man Army in Logan's limo. That was Badass!
