I was doing my algebra homework with a little funky transistor radio playing when a WSAI DJ (Paul Purton?) announced he was playing “River Deep, Mountain High” for the first time on Cincinnati radio. “Get ready,” he warned. This is like nothing you have ever heard. I’ll never forget it. I couldn’t get the radio speakers loud enough, or closer to my ear! To this day Tina Turner’s version still drives me to the brink!

A powerful voice will never be forgotten! TINA TURNNER!! My 3 sons and I use to mimic her moves and vocals for Rolling On The River. Good Times you will be missed TINA TURNER!!😢
