temporarily, yes. But to breach the agreement, we have to have years of consistent temperatures exceeding 1.5C. One year where we surpass that temp doesn't breach the agreement. To my knowledge, I'm pretty sure it needs to be an average-one or two years where we surpass that isn't an average.

I'm planting Bamboo along the West side of our property to protect the house and garden from the intense Georgia sun because my crops can no longer handle the stress. Bamboo absorbs twice as much CO2 than any other plant and releases 30% more O2. We still have to deal with Methane as well from melting Permafrost. I think there's a bacteria that can eat it from the soil but I don't know if it can be removed from the atmosphere.

Here's a simple truth about climate and megastorms: we are adding enormous amounts of heat energy into the environment and that energy is driving bigger and more frequent storms. How do we know we're adding enormous amounts of heat energy? 1.2 trillion tons of ice is melting on the two ice caps, the 200,000 glaciers, the sea ice, and the permafrost. It is impossible to come up with a total for the planet, at least for me. Maybe you can work it out?

Science is in reality only in its infancy. Look we have not proved or disproved such things as UFO's , Life After Death or Quantum Consciousness, Big Foot and many more alleged cited creatures. We've only been able to drill 40,000 feet in the Earth. The Kola Superdeep Borehole. We really have zero Idea if there will or will not be an World War 3, Armageddon Nuclear War. Nor do we know if China deliberately sent us Covid- 19 OR/AND will there be new deliberate Killer Plagues/Pandemics coming soon. There are so many questionable futures that pinpointing one as the number 1 issue to take on is very complicated. So many futures yet defined. Reducing fossil fuel acquisition now and then WW3 happens the next year will make it hard to rebuild as the few millions that survive nuclear war may find fossil fuels the best option again. AND with only say 20 Million humans on Earth in 2025 we will have enough gas & oil to last another 200 hundred years. Choose your future wisely. If I was young and had family I would find a good tropical forest to farm in and have horses for some travel options. Forgot an Asteroid Strike that would also cause havoc. Its also a popular Biblical Prophecy called the "Wormwood Prophecy." They called asteroids, meteorites stars as they didn't have telescopes back then. So by the amount of damage predicted it sounds like another asteroid like the one that allegedly killed the Dinosaurs. What we eat will depend on what's available. I'm sure 1800s cowboys in our USA west would chew the bones of a chicken to get full. Sheepshead fish are very bony but you can put them in a blender and crush the bones up good and get more calcium. We eat what's available.

OK, let's talk long-term trends. Average global temps haven't been this high for ~125,000 years, a recent study found that average CO2 levels haven't been this high for ~14 million years, and humans are currently warming the planet ~18 times faster than it usually warms when coming out of an ice age. Across Earth's history, RAPID global temperatures changes caused mass extinctions of life, so unless we stop this trend, we'll cause the sixth mass extinction of life on Earth--including most humans.

Global paleoclimate data go back for 100,000s of years with annual resolution and millions of years with lower temporal resolution. That’s partly how we know warming now isn’t natural because we’ve broken the natural cycles. Natural climate change in the past in no way refutes ongoing anthropogenic climate change. The c13 Suess effect proves our fossil fuel emissions are driving current warming

"Forest fires Current burn acreage is 80% lower than peak burn in the 1930s, per US Dept of Agriculture, National Report on Sustainable Forests - 2010 pg II-48. (Wikipedia)." I hope you understand why that is a totally meaningless statistic. In the 1930s, we had far fewer people living in the west to spot fires quickly, plus no satellites, GPS, and modern communications to pinpoint and communicate about fire outbreaks, and no modern firefighting methods to fight them. The 1930s were also an extremely anomalous decade in terms of climate in the U.S., the time of one of the worst man-made climate disasters in human history--the Dust Bowl created by dumb farming methods... and the extreme heat waves you can get when you leave vast swaths of farmland uncovered. Nowadays, we don't have that kind of dumb farming method (they're dumb in other ways), plus we have far more people living in the west, plus satellites, GPS, and modern communications to pinpoint and communicate about fire outbreaks, and modern firefighting methods to fight them. Thus, comparing wildfire acreage burned today to the 1930s is a totally unreasonable apples-to-oranges comparison. However, if you make apples to apples comparisons to recent decades, acreage burned has increased dramatically (double the acreage burned in the last two decades compared to the previous two decades).

@@kmoses582 "On the one hand you make it sound like yearly data is not relevant, then you mention Canada's bad year. Heads I lose tails you win, alarmist logic at its finest." Sorry, KMoses, I guess you didn't get my point. I was pointing out that if you're going to cherry pick, I could cherrypick Canada's burn acreage this year to counter your cherrypicking--but of course neither proves anything. Whether it's global temps, global ice melt, extreme weather events, sea level rise, or loss of biodiversity, ONLY long-term trends can ever prove anything. And on that note... 'The latest data on forest fires confirms what we’ve long feared: Forest fires are becoming more widespread, burning nearly twice as much tree cover today as they did 20 years ago. Using data from a recent study by researchers at the University of Maryland, we calculated that forest fires now result in 3 million more hectares of tree cover loss per year compared to 2001 - an area roughly the size of Belgium - and accounted for more than one-quarter of all tree cover loss over the past 20 years." Take care

Somewhere a King paid a family to throw one apple per day into a river for five generations. That's thousands of apples. Somewhere downstream, there will probably be apple trees; eventually. Somewhere ine day a philanthropist paid for a family to pay attention where the pollution from the river meets the sea. That family developed svere depression. I made this up. Apple a day and all that.

@@BillyTheKidCENTURION "Believing there is a "Climate Crisis" is not attractive, but fore-head slapping pitiable." There's a mountain of scientific evidence--thousands of research studies--proving that there's a climate crisis and that WE caused it. We are currently pushing the planet toward a mass extinction event with our man-made global warming, pollution, and ecosystems destruction. Those facts are obvious to anyone willing to look at the evidence.
