she always knew but the emperor cannot condemn the empress without a solid proof and witnesses. the empress also has the strong backing of her clan and the same goes to noble consort hui. meanwhile ruyi's clan has fallen and her aunt did not have a pleasant history to be known for nor does she have a son.
