Yeah, I hear you. I was of the same mentality while I was driving. Having a safe, reliable truck is a great stress reliever. Regarding marker lights, headlights,etc, I use to carry spares and replace them the next place I could safely stop. Some of the headlight bulbs were not always available. Second HP can and will stop you for a single light out. I had some rooky officer stop me because my trailer license plate light was out at 200AM in nowhereville TX. He wanted me to pull into the next truck stop and wait 6 hours for a mechanic to fix it. I drove the 200 miles to our terminal where our mechanics could do it.

I absolutely hate the feeling of driving down the road and wondering if everything is okay because I forgot to check something during my pretrip. I have actually had DOT officers start to say they were going to do a Level 1 inspection, and then cut me loose when they saw my confidence in my equipment. Complacency on the road can be a problem as well. For organizing stuff on my front seat, I strap a backpack on the seat facing backwards. I can reach into the pockets easily while driving and don’t have crap falling on the floor.

That's a cool flashlight. I've used cheap battery powered ones for years. I carry a flashlight on my keyring. It amazes me how many truckers don't carry basic tools like that. Great video as always. Keep up the good work.

How about filming your entire route from loading up to the actual traveling on the highway to arriving to your destination. 2 or a 3 hour long video, alot of us viewers would love to watch it on our 75 inch tv screens.

i have a co-worker who doesnt check anything. never checks oil, tires, or lights. refuses to. they put a whole set of tires on his truck, and within a month he blew out 6 of them. he thinks its funny. unfortunately this seems to be very common. he never washes his truck either. never.

Hope you are doing well. I haven't heard you speak to this before, how do you feel about rear singles? The common complain is "what about a blowout" and I get that, to a point. From what I understand, if you get caught trying to "limp" the truck with a blown dual you are going to be in trouble. Potentially, more than the cost of getting someone to come and replace that tire on the side of the road or whatever. The second question pertaining to this is across your whole career, how many actual blow outs have you had? Not talking about seeing a low tire at a fuel island that you can potentially air up/plug/patch whatever, but a knock-down drag out explosive blow out on the freeway or otherwise? I can't imaging those are too common. Keep the shiny side up!

How about kicking the tires and lightning the fire, what can be a little risky is putting the truck on Cruise Control than Jumping out of the seat and running back into the sleeper and getting a soda out of the fridge.
