It is impressive they were able to implement the HANS device considering how much drivers like Dale Earnhardt were against it. Ironically, his crash and subsequent death greatly caused drivers to reconsider using it. I raced with that early HANS model in road course races at that time (mandatory amateur racing after Dale’s crash) and for anyone like me with a hint of claustrophobia it was difficult to get comfortable with it as you could not turn your head freely. But it saved a ton of lives and drivers like me learned to race with it. Great Invention! Thank you Dale for making us use it!

I’m puzzled why the Apache LongBow has taken so long to bring to the battlefield, especially as I was able to play it as a game (Helicopter Gunship in the early 1990’s (!). Heck even the rotors are still based on the even earlier 1970’s design of BERP’s (British Experimental Rotor programme) which had for the time, extra quiet and extra quick rotors that were designed to help reduce the rotor tips becoming supersonic. They were made for the British Westland Lynx Helicopter in 1971, and became the fastest rotor powered helicopter in use for many years at the time a record speed of 250mph. It was a record it retained for quite a few years until,retiring in 2018 and ranked in the world’s top 10 fastest helicopters - not bad for something that’s over 40-years old already. It’s only recently been withdrawn from frontline service which is shown in the following article; The Westland Lynx is a British multi-purpose twin-engined military helicopter designed and built by Westland Helicopters at its factory in Yeovil. Originally intended as a utility craft for both civil and naval usage, military interest led to the development of both battlefield and naval variants. Wikipedia Developed into: Westland 30; AgustaWestland AW159 Wildcat First flight: 21 March 1971 Introduction: 1978 National origin: United Kingdom Number built: 450 (as of 2009) Primary users: British Army (historical); Royal Navy (historical); German Navy; See Operators for others Retired: 2017 (Royal Navy), 2018 (British Army), 2020 (French Navy)

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by why it's taken so long to take the longbow into combat? They've been in every major and some minor conflicts the US has been in since it was first brought up to D variant spec. You can find stories of the pilots and gunners talking about their experiences in combat in the AH-64D's in the early 2000's, only a few years after they entered service. Earlier variants also saw combat service.

It is not a machine gun it is an autocannon, specifically, a large calibre weapon which fires a shell loaded with explosive, generally of more than about 15-18mm in diameter, depending on the country that produces it.

Do the army pilots want their helicopter in a bad sharpe, this that what they saying? When I was stationed in Korea all the Air Force enlisted personnel stayed in officers quarters and got paid extra for substandard conditions, E-1 and up. The Air Force standards are living quarters and all support buildings. In the army they build work area than the barracks. The USAF goes back to congress for more money and get it because work area is not done.

Whoa…230kmh? That’s about 142mph. When I worked as a Sheriff’s investigator in the late 1970s I hit 140mph numerous times on I-94 in pursuits . We were operating the 1976 Plymouth Fury 4dr at the time, with the 440 magnum V8. We had the highest rated tires as well as oil and tranny fluid coolers and special brakes. I think everyone called them Blues Mobiles later on. We won most of our pursuits just because of equipment superiority. They might have hot cars with blowers, etc., but never Z rated tires or oil cooler and tranny fluid coolers and usually after about 40 miles at or above 100mph their engines would hatch and we would see an oil slick and then either them pulling over or them with an engine fire. But anything over 125 used to scare the crap out of me because you would be out running your warning equipment and an accident at those speeds you would not live through. Unless it was a violent felony I started braking off when we exceeded 125, but I always worked the night shifts so traffic was always very lite. I can’t imagine doing those speeds on a curved track or roadway. Those guys were braver than I would ever be!

I now can see many life saving advances have been made trying to prevent common injuries or deaths. So in essence it's really advanced injury and death prevention.

Hope to see many of the Leopards rolling into Ukraine soon! Also the F16's from The Netherlands! Slava Ukraine I have become so mentally and emotionally aligned with Ukraine that the other night, in response from another Russian lie about who attacked who. I SAID " We didn't attack Russia, Russia attacked us!" And, I don't have a drop of Ukrainian blood but wish I did!

The strike able version of the F15 is a 2 seater, all the ones shown were a pure air superiority fighter that is not equipped for the use of air to ground! The best they have for ground attack is that 20mm canon.

@@thesi99 oh Do you know where to find info on modern war technologies? Like Israeli anti-missile defense system and the dilaceration missile of flying rotating knives that the us used on some guy in the middle east this year What's the actual state of the art in military technology? What are the most interesting, unusual, weird, unbelievable, etcetera; technologies we have, are being developed, or were pitched but never done? One last thing, do you have any idea what military satellites are capable of? Are they all the same? Are they just space cameras/communications? I literally have no idea where to find what I'm trying to find, maybe there's a Scott Manley of the pentagon here on KZfaq and I just don't know about it, but I'm assuming you might know of one such channel

The "autonomous flight" ability gives the pilots the opportunity to sleep during those 30+ hour long missions which has been a real problem for the B-2. Basically the B2 is being used for missions it was never intended for It was built for short range missions to penetrate Soviet Air defense and carpet bomb airfields We don't need a huge bomb bay , but we need more range and the ability to fly over 30 hours at a time. It's not a WWW3 bomber like the B2 , it's the "reach out and nail that little bastard 10,000 miles away" Bomber.

If I remember correctly the Japanese finally did something similar to what the British did at Messin Belgium over a decade before but on a smaller scale during the Siege of Port Arthur Manchuria during the Russo-Japanese War but only after absorbing some dreadful percentages of attrition in failed frontal assaults. I'd have to re familiarize myself with that conflict to recall the particulars and results but I believe it was successful in advancing their position though it didn't yet end the siege. I remember ghoulish descriptions of dissected cadavers with staring eyes being as much a part of the landscape of the battleground as the similarly well trodden soil they were mixed with.. Indeed a prelude to the trenches of WW!

The word "Aircraft" does not take a letter "s" to be plural. That is because the word "aircraft" is called an irregular plural. There is a grammatical error in the title of this video. You are supposed to use the word "Aircraft" for both the singular and plural form. For example, you say "Aircraft Carrier" to talk about a ship that holds many aircraft. Nobody calls that ship an "Aircrafts Carrier". Please correct the title of this video to be "The Ultimate Military Aircraft and Weapons of All Time". Thank you. Other examples of irregular plurals are: Mouse vs Mice (plural), Formula vs Formulae (plural), bread vs bread (plural, no such word as "breads"), cactus vs cacti (plural), index vs indices (plural), spacecraft vs spacecraft (plural, no such word as spacecrafts), fruit vs fruit (plural, no such word as fruits), antenna vs antennae (plural, no such word as antennas), octopus vs octopi (plural), etc.

'Fruits' with an s is definitely a word. The word fruit is an exception where the noun is both countable and uncountable so the plural of the word fruit can either be fruit or fruits. I.e. The fruits of our labor- Would be a proper usage but certainly the word fruits is real and exists. Same with the word Antennas, Antenna with a plural s is a proper plural when referring to electrical equipment and the word Antennae is most properly used to describe the multiple of protuberances on the head of insects.
@digitalevidenceexpert7964
@digitalevidenceexpert7964 Жыл бұрын
@@cjcoleman3893 The proper usage is "The fruit of our labor" meaning that the labor is bearing fruit or multiple results. "Fruits" is not a word. If "Fruits of our labor" sounds even remotely correct to you then I would have referred you to my very expensive British teachers who actually used this very example as a sample of the types of errors that is often taught in public schools. I am American but I received a very international education by American, British and Canadian educators and I also speak 3 languages so I've seen it all.
@cjcoleman3893
@cjcoleman3893 Жыл бұрын
@Digital Evidence Expert Here's an example: My favorite fruits are apples, bananas, and oranges. You would never want to say, "My favorite fruit are apples, bananas and oranges." It sounds improper. Your international education is meaningless and your knowledge of languages other than English are irrelevant and do not apply. Fruits is absolutely a real word and has proper usages. Here's 3 more examples of proper usage since you think you're so smart: The supermarket has a wide selection of exotic fruits such as Papaya and Mango. The juice is made from a variety of fresh fruits. I love oranges and other citrus fruits. The fact you used an appeal to authority logic fallacy to affirm the validity and superiority of your assertion completely discredits you. Not to mention a simple Google search would have provided the proper usage, context and an explanation for the word fruits validity. You failed both literally and rhetorically. Both your grammar and the logic you're using to support the validity of your assertions regarding grammar are invalid!
