Why Ireland There is a rich spiritual heritage in Ireland, and the roots of the faith go deep, deeper than most people realise. The countless monasteries, saints, missionaries, scholars, martyrs, all bear witness to the fact that the fire that St. Patrick started in this country was once powerfully ablaze. That fire has since dwindled, but God has not abandoned Ireland, and the same Holy Spirit intends to breathe forcefully once again on the embers that St. Patrick started are being revived into a flame and the Divine Will is flourishing in Ireland. He just needs you and I to open our eyes to see what our Irish ancestors saw in the faith. He needs you and I to rediscover our roots. The last vision Saint Patrick had was a great vision, in which the actual state and the future of the Church in Ireland were revealed to him. In the first place, he saw the whole land, as it were, like a great furnace whose flames reached to the sky. And he clearly heard the voice of an Angel saying, "Such is now - the state of Ireland in the sight of the Lord." After a little time, instead of this far-spreading universal fire, he saw flaming mountains here and there over the land, then torches shining, succeeded by glimmering lights amidst an ever-increasing darkness. Last of all, he saw a few live coals buried and burning deep in the earth. Then an angelic voice was heard, saying that such should be the successive states of the Irish people in times that were coming. Then, with tears rolling down his cheeks, the Saint repeated many times those words of the Psalmist, "Will God then cast us off forever? Or will He never be favorable again? Or will He cut off His mercy forever from generation to generation? Or will God forget to show mercy? Or will He in anger close off His mercies?" The Angel answered and told him to look to the north of the land, and that there he should see the Hand of the Most High. The Saint lifted up his eyes, and, behold, a little light arose in Uladh (Ulster), which had struggled long in the darkness, until at length the whole island was filled with the brightness of its glory, and Ireland returned to its first state of all-pervading fire. It is not surprising to learn that in the seventh century a Holy man named Cathal (of the Saints and Scholar's that came to God through Patricks establishment of the Church in Ireland), having studied at the University of Lismore, made his way through the pass in the ancient SlieveCua mountains and arrived at Rathan where he established his monastic settlement. He was appointed Bishop of the area even though it must be remembered that in those early years of the Christian Church this did not mean that he was in charge of a diocese. After some years at Shanrahan, Cathal set out on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. On his return journey he was shipwrecked off the coast of Southern Italy. There he realized that the people of the area had reverted to paganism (as was the state of Ireland, when God called Patrick to return), so he resolved to stay amongst them in an effort to reconvert them to Christianity. Cathal became Saint Caltado and was the patron Saint of Corato, Luisa's hometown. Book of Heaven - February 12, 1904 Luisa speaks with some priests about the church of St. Cataldo. “In spite of all these difficulties, indeed it is not lost; and even if they reach the point of laying hands on it to knock it down, it still cannot be considered as lost, because St. Cataldo will know well how to defend his temple". Actually, the Easter in the Roman Rite is from Erie They use a fire signaling system on Holy Saturday/Easter Sunday for the right time to start the Great Vigil. This system was used in Erie and on the British Island to signal coastal invasion from the sea at night.

I have a very rare hearing problem ---- i have to lip-read and use sub-titles ----- as i hear too much. The words i hear are distorted. It does not affect music ---- but sub-titles can be dangerous for those who are stone deaf ---- or delightfully witty ---- for example the discussion of "false profits" --- missiles ----- and the importance of the hole.

The accent coupled with "far away" room sound makes this very difficult to catch all the words. Too bad, it's probably a great story, but can't tell.
