For me, writing Kyle out was what killed the show. And the marriage is Sinclair and Overton. Seemed like they only brought Kyle back when Regine left. They cheated us out of Regine’s fabulous wedding.

That's what was said, but she hadn't gained weight yet. So, that's bull. I was told that it had to do with Keenan Wayans trying to get with her, but she refused. And, that the brothers wanted to make their sister Kim the female star. But, it all worked out for her. She and John Henton were so good and convincing together, much like Isabel Sanford and Sherman Helmsley.

I must have forgotten Kim fields on GOOD TIMES though I do remember that HER mother, Chip Fields, played the role of the abusive mother of Penny (Janet Jackson). I do not recall Kim Fields on Good Times, plus she had her own show. And LIVING SINGLE was a successful show before FRIENDS came on the scene.

She did appear on Good Times, I think for one episode which was when Florida was driving the school bus and her and a few of the school kids were stranded in a winter storm…Kim Fields was one of those kids

Good Times did a fast switch a roo of Kim Fields to Janet Jackson in the same Episode. Kim’s biological Mom, that did more two episodes on Good Times ended up being Penny’s (Janet Jackson) abusive Mom. Kim Fields actually got her biggest break on “Facts of Life” TV sitcom show. Back in the late 1970’s. Facts of Life show was only popular to young girls who were going to “Private Boarding Schools “whose parents that could afford to send their children to a Boarding School “. Kim Fields was the lone Black girl on the TV sitcom.

I watched Kim on Facts of Life religiously cause that was my era and we were happy to see black people playing roles on TV. I was in a private school ‘67-71 for middle school yet did not so much watch because I identified to have attended a white private school, mostly watched a show because a black person played a role.

The most important thing about Living Single is that it was a show that myself as a African American could watch and relate to other than a Caucasian show and it gave something I could discuss, enjoy talking about and bringing others of color closer. ❤

I always thought Regine should have been Khadijah's cousin, and Sinclair should have been Khadijah's half sister with different mothers. The setup of Regine and Khadijah being friends didnt make much since because they never seem to like each other much of the show.
