I met him one night in a high-end L.A. restaurant. On my way to the restroom, I see Oliver Stone at a table to my right, who looked up and nodded. On my way out and going back to my table, Greg Hines was dining at a table/booth on my right. Our eyes met. He was having dinner with a woman, and I stopped dead in my tracks at his table. He looked up and smiled, knowing I recognized him, and he shook my hand. I think we extended hands simultaneously. I can easily recall the feel of that genuine handshake. I told him I admired his work so much and started to move back to my table. He introduced me to the woman he was dining with, and my girlfriend was sitting at our table, agape at seeing this. So, I called her over and introduced her to Greg and his date. He says, "Hey man I KNOW you!" I smiled and said, "I doubt that." and he insisted, "No man, I KNOW that I know you!" I said, "No man, you've met someone who LOOKS like me ... but it wasn't me." We politely disengaged and it's always been a find memory whenever he comes up. He could not have been a nicer, more polite and warm person in that situation. I was saddened when I learned he passed away just a few years later.

This doesn’t reflect at all on the credibility of the black community ! It’s time we stop taking responsibility for everything black ! (Positive or negative). If real equality is the goal then we must realize that everything done/ said by 1 person of color doesn’t reflect on the whole race!

Not to use them as a barometer, but you don’t see all white people apologizing for serial killers (Dahmer or Gacey), or other criminals (like Epstein or Weinstein). I’ve been a super supporter of Gregory Hines since I was little being born in 83 and loving music and dance I watched movies like Tap,Grease, Sparkle, and The Wiz over and over again just to name a few we had VHS tapes back then but once I was grown I found another level of loving Gregory Hines when I saw him as and his brother in The Cotton Club their performance was Stellar and then again when he played Mr Bojangles himself which Hines never get credit for he did an Amazing job for that no one else could’ve done that role he was made specially for that role 😳❤️🎶💕 Society and / the powers that be only allow Our greats to be greats with restraints But for Greg he mentally and emotionally broke those chains 3 times and that was when Gregory was on stage, the movie Tap and you can feel his freedom in the movie Bojangles while portraying The Iconic Bill Robinson you did a good job research and educating the youngsters about Real Icons and Real Talent. Thank you Salute 💕🎶❤️

I caught about the last 2 hours of this discussion. The Man represents the Nation-State in the marriage. The women and children represent your citizens. It's not a partnership. The wife may need to wear the hat of the CEO, CIO, or CFO. Teacher, Janitor, Doctor, etc... At the end of the day; the man must produce, provide, protect, secure, and defend. Of course, he must also Govern. I hope this clears that whole partnership nonsense up.
