and the subgenre doo-wop. They and the Mills Brothers, another black vocal group of the 1930s and 1940s, gained much acceptance in the white community.

My dad "Matthew Mckinney' song with the original before they draft him to world war 2. He play the guitar and I listen to many of they songs, and he taught me and my brothers some of them. "i love coffee", If I did't care", If I had a doll that I could call my own', and more. I miss him picking that guitar. As a child I use to get so tired of hearing it, but now, oh but now, if I could hear it one more time.

I have grown up with my grandmother singing this song. I would fall asleep every time. Oh how I love and miss this song

This sounds very much like the Mills Brothers version. There is another version, supposedly by the Ink Spots, that is different.
