Luciana Espinoza hi! sorry for not being doc anne, but i read that hyaluronic acid should be used first, as it is moisturizing and it preps your skin for the niacinamide!

@@lucianaespinoza9554 Usually HA goes first and then the Niacinamide on top, it helps with absorption. But either way is fine, to be honest, just apply the HA to damp skin.

I don’t think it will work the same if you open it once and refill it, but I have never tried that.

I’ve just finished one and you can just unscrew it and put a different product in but obviously it needs to be a cream consistency. There was literally no product left too because of the really good applicator

I wouldn't use this moisturiser personally because the only attractive feature to me is the packaging. My philosophy is actives in serum form and a basic moisturiser that has skin soothing, barrier supporting ingredients. Also I would go through a 50 ml moisturiser in a month so it works out cheaper to separate actives (also this peptide moisturiser doesn't have many peptides to really justify its title and given the scarcity of evidence to support any single peptide arguably the best option is to pack in as many as possible)

@@franciscolodix1214 For about the same price and also 50 ml Acure sells a peptide moisturiser with 9 peptides in a tube packaging. If I was to get a peptide moisturiser I would pick that one. But again, buying a basic moisturiser and a peptide serum would last longer for half the price

@@franciscolodix1214 Moisturizers tend to last AGES for me, same do eye creams. I rush through my serums though, they never seem to last long.

I am a huge advocate of the "actives in your serum" approach as well, which is why that is the step where I tend to spend my money.

@@DoctorAnne if moisturiser is in a pot, I will go through it in a few weeks because I take too much out. In a squeezey tube it is more regulated. A 100 ml balm will last me maybe 4 months. 30 ml serums for once a day use generally last about 2 months for me. If a moisturiser isn't very emollient I will often need 3-4 layers and it runs out faster

This moisturizer feels good after setting in but it stings quite a lot when applying to my admittedly sensitive skin. I'm quite confused why that might be. Thanks for the review, came to see it if there might be a mention about cons for sensitive skin types!

I never had any issues, even if my skin was sensitized from Tretinoin, but each skin reacts to different things.

Would you use a serum peptides in the same routine as your prescription retinoid cream, I know that it’s better to avoid vitamin C when using peptides but what other ingredients would you avoid

This along with the Oat cleansing balm is my favorite of the products I've tried from the Inkey List (I haven't tried that many yet). But, although fragrance free, it does have quite a strong smell, so as a person who is very sensitive to smells, I am unsure if I'll be able to use this in the summer (I've only used it now in October-November)

Yes, fragrance free often means the original scent isn't masked, which can be less than pleasant. I am a huge fan of the Oat Cleansing Balm as well.

Dear Dr. Ann, Would you recommend using this cream with a topical vitamin C in am. As far as I understand, vitamin C may destroy peptides...

Vitamin C gets stored in your skin, so I wouldn´t worry to much about that. Just let the Vitamin C absorb and then apply the cream. As far as I know the problem with the interaction is mainly in copper-peptides and L-Ascorbic-Acid, so doesn´t apply to all peptides anway, but I might be wrong there.

I’m 20 years old, would you recommend the use of peptides?? This moisturizer caught my eye but I’m not sure about the peptides:(. I have dry/dehydrated skin, not acne prone and I’m looking for Shea butter in a moisturizer♥️♥️

I don´t think you need peptides, but they won´t hurt either. As this is a budget friendly version, I don´t think it will hurt to see if it works for your skin.

My skin is normal to oily, so I can‘t really speak from experience here, but I suggest looking for something that has occlusives and a thicker texture. I can‘t compare this one to the Purito one as I don‘t know Puritos offer.

Stinging is not a normal reaction to skincare. Either you are allergic to something in the formula or your skin barrier is compromised.

Try if using more is helping, but you might need something richer, with more occlusives. Is your skin really dry?

As Acnelyse should be prescription, I recommend asking your prescribing doctor for specific advice, but in general it is good to use alongside Retinoic Acid if it doesn't feel too heavy on your skin.

No topical skincare is able to reverse existing wrinkles. Sunscreen, retinol and Vitamin C can prevent new ones forming prematurely, hydration will help plumpen the skin so they appear less obvious. A stron retinoid might even have a small effect on reduction in depth, but other than that they are a normal part of the face aging.

I’ve seen that some of the ingredients are comedogenic... won’t it cause me to break out if i use it on my acne prone skin? The reason im thinking of getting is it because my skin very dehydrated

Ingredients may be comedogenic, but when in the right formula, the end product is not, so comedogenicity ratings are always just guidance. I can say with confidence that I do not get comedones or breakouts, but that might be different for you - every skin reacts different.

I don’t think it is too much in like it does harm, but I don’t think you need to combine too many products either, it might not enhance the effect and just be a waste of money.

If i mix a peptide serum (buffet by the ordinary) with a moisturizer (cerave moisturizing cream) did i make a peptide and ceramide moisturizer? or does the serum stay suspended in the moisturizer?

To create a peptide and ceramide moisturizer, you need to formulate one - the serum will mix, but it won't be distributed evenly or, depending on what you mix it into, could even lead to worse performance of the individual products. Each product is formulated in a way that makes them stable and perform their best, and I wouldn't mess with that. Usually you will be fine, but why nor apply one first and then the other?

My BIG question is where in a am/pm skincare routine would I use Benzamycin gel (rx) and Retinf A (rx) ?? I have been using them for acne for over 24 years and nothing else has workes...But I want to use all these other cool things..Thank you and stay safe...

@@dcdawn I have a few routines up in which I share my skincare accompanying Tretinoin, and to be honest, the Tretinoin is the best thing you can do for your skin, everything else should be only introduced if it doesn’t disturb the Tretinoin routine. I use mine every other night and other things on the „off-night“.

If you have acne, go see a dermatologist. Acne is a skin disease and should always be treated under professional supervision. Other than that you need a good sunscreen, a gentle cleanser and maybe be BHA product if you get congested skin.

There is no need to use a certain skincare ingredient, if you don’t have any concerns, stick with what is working for you. I think 35 is a good age to start using a retinol though - I have a video about t which age I recommend starting the different ingredients if you are interested.

I have not tried any DE products. While I think the products are good, I am not comfortable with a lot of the branding, so I don´t think I will venture into exploring that brand. And yes, Clinique make good products.

Peptide is at the bottom of the ingredients list in this product. So not worth the money if anyone is targeting anti-ageing skin care that does not contain retinol or retinaldehyde because it's too irritating for his/her skin. You're not a dermatologist I just realised.

Peptides don´t need a high concentration to work, so I don´t think it is a problem.

The product says it has a low percentage of the peptides (2 and 1 percent). So of course it’s closer to the bottom. And as the doctor stated Peptides ( and other actives) Don’t need to be at high levels for effectiveness.
