D.A. Knowlton interrogates the 32 year-old-spinster of the great Andrew J. Borden of Fall River revealing a sophisticated and clever liar. All pleasantries have subsided as Lizzie uses her own brand of bullshit and bitchcraft to confuse her nemesis and throw him off track.
Knowlton fires back with one direct question after another. One of the most exciting courtroom dramas I have ever known intensifies until the end. *There is one more Inquest episode to go!
Are you one of the people that think Lizzie may have used a heavy flat iron instead of a hatchet? I have given this theory much thought as Lizzie mentions "ironing her handkerchiefs" a few times in her inquest. When looking at the back of Abby Borden's shaved mutilated head it is difficult to ascertain if a claw hammer hatchet was used or a heavy flat iron but there are many sharp edges as well.
Andrew Borden's eyeball and nose were so cleanly sliced off or cleaved in two that only a very sharp instrument could have been used.
But after recording the autopsy reports of the doctors who assisted on the case for Season 2 there was no doubt in my mind that a 3.5-inch hatchet was used, new and with gold gilt ornamented upon it could be seen by the naked eye behind the left ear of Abby Borden.
Lastly, the hatchet found on the roof of Crowe's barn, a neighbor whose backyard property triangulated with Lizzie's was also analyzed and found to contain traces of the gold gilt underneath the rust as having sat there for 10 months.

Out of interest, when I learned Lizzie was known to shoplift ( store owners turned a blind eye & charged it to Andrews account) I did some research on psych sites & online psych articles. Shoplifting when poverty is not the issue , is due to depression, anxiety & feeling disempowered. The rush of getting away with it becomes addictive. There was another shoplifting incident years later that became public knowledge but didn't progress to prosecution (paid off ?): 2 very expensive miniature paintings. So Lizzie was not a happy camper long before the recent rows over Andrew gifting a house to Abby's relative.

Yes, I know what you mean. Lizzie's sense of entitlement carried over into all her affairs. I couldn't get over the part when Lizzie went to the house of a dead relative and removed the woman's white dress from the body and there are other stories where Lizzie was the last visitor of a sick friend ready to die and after she left bruise marks were found around her neck and her jewelry gone. (Parallel Lives from the Fall River Historical Society) That's bananas!

There’s zero evidence against Lizzie or tying her to the crimes. Presumably the grand jury was going to not indict, then upon hearing Alice Russell’s testimony about the dress burning, they decided to indict. Literally no evidence, and the prosecution at the trial could not show or prove she had anything to do with it. Wild stuff!

Boy she looks dramaticly different when some color is applied to her picture! She doesn't appear to be so wicked anymore. It is much easier to understand how her jurry could be mislead.

"Taking all that...what is the amount of time you think you occupied looking for that piece of lead you could NOT find?" That D. A. Hosea Knowlton was such a wit when he prosecuted Lizzie! How I love him.

Some of her comments are quite reasonable and his questioning is sometimes overheated and unnecessary. Such as his insistence that she say she felt better as she ate pears when she already had admitted she felt better that day than the night before. Lizzie may have been tripping herself up but she was also under sedatives and in an emotional state, being cross-examined so intensely.

Those pears must have been amazing. Both Lizzie and her Uncle John said separately they ate pears from that tree the day of the murders. I am impressed with both Lizzie and Knowlton. They both held their ground.

Why is the audio repeated over and over? Really annoying on what otherwise would be a good audio
@lizziebordenaudio

Hello Tammy, out of the 20 minute audio almost 19 minutes is Lizzie's inquest testimony except for the 30 second intro and a short outro. I'm not sure what part you are talking about unless you are talking about the fact that I replayed the last 2 minutes of the last episode to start the new one to orient the listener. Could that be what you are referring to? There was such a long time in between the release of the episodes as podcasts, I figured that some people would appreciate that but it's different now that you can get them all at once. Hope that helps answer ur question. In the future, I have been planning on bundling them all into one big audiobook that I can sell on Amazon as a CD and digital download and edit out some repetitive audio.

@@lizziebordenaudio there were several parts in different episodes that parts of inquest were repeated over and over. ?? I’d have to go back and look at the times it happened. Unless something on my end messed up. These are awesome otherwise!

@@TammyM36 Knowlton often repeated his line of questioning throughout the 14 inquests to see if their answers varied. He did this with each person and I caught on to another little trick of his that he always said about 90% into his interview. But he sure gave Lizzie a good grilling on her "fishing story." Thank you for ur kind words.

I was a beginner. I was self-taught. I used special effects to hide the clipping. I tried to get someone to help me. I even offered one guy a grand if he would edit it for me and he said no. I had an $88 Chromebook when I started so I had to buy a refurbished Macbook and learn how to use it by watching KZfaq videos and everything was recorded in the winter of 2018 and not released until March 2020 bc I knew I was going to get flack about it but I felt the real Lizzie lovers would care more about the content and not the technical mistakes. I have paid thousands so people like you can listen to it for free and I get nothing back in return for all my effort, research, and blood, sweat & tears. Perhaps you can say something nice about the amazing actors who all volunteered their time to bring my vision to life and the amazing artwork. But until someone with more skill, more money, and more knowledge about the case than me comes along to take my place, I'M ALL YA GOT, HONEY! 💜💜💜
