@Vlad Tepes They technically don't have their "own military" per se, but the reason being is because they need the retinue aka manpower they can get to do their missions. The Grey Knights, Deathwatch, and Sisters of Battle aren't 100% part of the Inquisition, they are the militant wing of it (50%). Hope that helped Btw who is your favorite Inquisitor? :)

My favorite Ordos are the Ordo Necros, and the Ordo Vigilus. The purpose of Ordo Necros is unknown, but it must be important if it requires all 250 members of Ordo Vilgilus to watch all 13 members of Necros.

The eisenhorn novels describe his bolt pistol as having the mag loaded in the grip like a normal pistol, but all the artwork shows it as having the mag in front of the trigger like a regular bolt pistol

I love Eisenhorn but no way in hell can he wield a fucking bolt pistol. I don't care how strong he could be. He's not wearing power armor and probably not very augmented. Maybe normal people in 40k can shoot a bolter but these instances should be not only ignored but promptly forgotten and scrubbed from the 40k universe. People can't even lift a bolter, much less shoot one. The only possible explanation is that these are baby bolters (which is still such a retarded idea). What's the fucking point if everyone and their damn dog has a bolter? This frustrates me to no end!

One thing you could clarify is that the Ordos focus is more or less only nominal and explain resource access. Eisenhorn is in the Ordo Xenos, but investigates whAtever he comes across and doesn’t pass the buck. Most of the shit he deals with is Chaos related and not to do with Xenos forces.

Another minor Ordo worth mentioning is the Ordo Excorium which is tasked to monitor Exterminatus and to make sure it isn't as abused as overused grimderk 40k memes suggests. Although they are very minor that they are merely a footnote in the Inquisition Codex, I find them to be quite interesting considering that they're proof that even Inquisitors are kept in line with their dangerous planet-destroying powers and show that even the most infamous and ruthless Imperial faction isn't necessarily as reckless as everyone thinks.

@@philippayne8890 It gets even better, the Ordo Excorium is stated to have only 100 Inquisitors or less which is a very tiny number in the 40k universe, more or less implying that each and every one of the Inquisitors in this Ordo is a very big deal even by the organization's standards. (or maybe they're just understaffed.)

You know the thing about the inquisition is that the imperium's enemies often use infiltration tactics. Chaos cults of ever kind, genesteeler cults, the alpha legion, others, the imperium's enemies are often walking beside it's loyal subjects. As such an arm of government that literally spends all it's time investigating and fighting the imperium itself as well as it's enemies makes sense

Thanks for makeing videos on 40k I used to be really into it back with my uncle its nice getting that nostalgic feel back when I was a kid my uncle would take me to his basement with his friends playing table top I would watch them play for a while until my uncle got are bath tub running I would always be sad that I had too leave the game but he said if we finished early I could catch the the end of the game.

@@Fordo007 Yup. SPOILER: Basically some of the remembrancers are out of the job and one of them is close to Dorn. There's this scene where he's contemplating commiting suicide by jumping off the wall. Dorn happens to be there and stops him and they have a convo. Bro complains about having no purpose so Dorn says he is reinstating the remembrancers (historians) and gives them authority to interview anyone and they can't refuse. Boom, Dorn accidentally creates the inquisitors. Also there's a funny interaction where he tells his buddy to go down and get started on his work and then adds "and do use the stairs" (implying him to not jump off the wall). tl;dr Dorn sets up a nerdy history bookclub who later turn into a group of psychopathic inquisitors that exterminate more planets than chaos ever has.

DAMMIT I THOUGHT SO. I bloody remember reading about Rogal making the Inquisition indirectly but there is no info out there about it and everything points to Malcador. Maybe they both did it, Malcador creates daemon hunters, Rogal creates aggressive historians and they eventually merge to create the Inquisition

If I was a Inquisitor I'd mostly keep tabs on fortress monasteries. Send vox hails to people across the void. Mainly just checking and making sure relations in which segementum I'm stuck in are on the up and up.

Frankly, the Space Wolf Inquisition tussle didn't need to happen. The Inquisition could have just said, fuck it these guardsmen are pretty tough having survived what they did, we'll swear them to secrecy and fold them into our Stormtrooper companies.

@@drfye Nah, in 40K knowing nothing doesn't protect you and as an illiterate he isn't serving the Emperor as well as possible so still guilty. Should have made more with his life but that also mean going above his station so... ;-)

Very late to the game, but this came up when I was scowring KZfaq for inspiration for my ordo Marine Army. I would like to say great vid and now my 7th marine army is coming about as I used to do all inquisition but only did the more well-known ones, and now I can go more niche

9:40 - True!! It can be both good and effective to fight Fire with Fire, or to fight Fire with Water; both accomplish the task, just in significantly different ways! Inquisitorial badges/rosettes are unique and can't be forged!? Surely this could be misused. I'm an inquisitor, this is my badge. Unless you're a real inquisitor, or someone in the know, it could be dangerous to question it; though even worse if you're found out to be impersonating one!

The biggest doodoo an inquisitor did was manipulating Orks and Tyranids into war with one another resulting in strengthening both through said war. If we ever get Krorks, it will probably be the Inquisition's fault.

Main question I had left unanswered: how strong is an inquisitor? They seem to be very powerful in combat but they are just normal men and women? Do they get augments? How does that work?

Depends on the Inquisitor. They have access to the best gear and training and they will often have Psykik powers/have pskyers in their squad

The one inquisitor/other parts of imperium government fuck that sticks in my brain and that’s the fate of most Beastmen. A loyal set of abhumans who served in the guard, worshipped the emperor pretty fiercely, and overall did pretty well. Then they’re called mutants, then the Puritans start saying they must be chaos tainted, and now most places hate or even kill beastmen and the ones who escape tend to then actually fall to chaos. Puritans being so puritan they actually make/give more power n forces to chaos
