The only time you ever knew any of them had money is when they gave it away in one form or the other. All of them work hard to this day even though they don’t need to. Yup, first time hearing this as well. It's a great story made even better by being so personal to our town. I've spent the last 25 years living within 10 minutes of that mall, and it's wild knowing that a few short decades ago it was all nothing but a handful of houses on 250 acres.

The no risk no reward episode!! Half those listens are from me, one of the most epic stories of all time. Literally the last fabrication job I did, was a huge copper part, something out of my wheelhouse. While I was talking myself out of doing it, I remembered the no risk, no reward episode. Fast forward to last week when I dropped the finished masterpiece off at the customers house, they absolutely loved it, I’ll be damned if it didn’t pay off pretty damn well too. That job will likely transition my business into custom residential fab work. This is why I love these stories of yours Rob, there’s always little golden nuggets in there that can be implemented in other aspects of life. 🤘🏻🇺🇸🤘🏻

That story hit me in the feels. Not quite to the extreme that was in this story but it reminds me of my grandparents going from dirt poor to taking 2 badass vacations a year with all of us and buying 10 acres of land and building a really nice house on it.

What an amazing story! Late grandfather in law made a similar move on a much smaller scale back in the 1960s. Little patch of dirt near a two lane road that turned into a prime retail spot next to a freeway.
