Bobby Roode has recently confirmed his retirement from wrestling in WWE so here's a video on the story of Bobby Roode in TNA. He wrestled for TNA for 12 years and became a legend with the company, he started as a jobber in Team Canada, had a singles heel run, made a tag team with James Storm called Beer Money and eventually became a heel World Heavyweight champion. I've documented his rise through the company and covered his main career highlights. 2010-2012 was peak Bobby Roode as he feuded with Sting, Kurt Angle, Ric Flair, AJ Styles and Jeff Hardy. By the end of this he was one of TNA's greatest home grown talents.

Roode was always that one guy that could go out there on any given night and give you a good match. He wasn’t outstanding at anything in particular but he was always the most reliable and managed to make whatever he was given work. That’s what made him such a big asset to TNA. I appreciate him a lot more now in hindsight because of that. He’s very underrated.

Salute to the It Factor and Glorious one, Bobby Roode. Loved him post his split from Team Canada, to the days in Beer Money Inc, that excellent promo, and of course his time as TNA World Champion. I wish he got a better shake on the WWE main roster, but that NXT run was really good as well. Smart of him to put his long term health before wrestling and he seems to be good as a producer/agent, so he will always have job options. Great video as always!

@@Markyd123 There was such a huge build up for the match, Roode got plenty of screwy finishes or beer bottle to the head finishes over Storm. it was a show in Storm's hometown and felt like it should have been the big blow off for the feud. The Superkick through the cage kinda fell flat with a lot of people. Pretty sure Storm just disappeared from tv after that.

The AJ Styles defense in May 2012 was the best of his reign I felt that gave him the longest TNA title reign at the time (although Jarrett’s NWA title reign of 2004-2005 was still longer.) The ladder match with RVD also was pretty good. The match where he lost the title to Aries was also one of the best world title matches in the company’s history.

I feel like Roode is one of the few wrestlers who somehow made it through all the politicking & BS & booking changes & booker biases & everything to pretty much max out their potential. He wasn't an all-time talent, but he had no real flaws in his game and was more than good enough across the board to accumulate lots of gold and spend a lot of time in & around the main event scene. So three (NXT counts for me) mostly competent but fairly weak/unspectacular world title reigns and many, usually more successful, secondary singles & tag title runs feels just about right for him. In a general sense, he'd still be an easy Hall of Famer, just not quite an inner-circle one. All in all, a damn good career.

I wish we could one more solid run outta him, HHH can talk him into it and I would love him to be a grizzled vet that gets the world title before he graciously bows out at the following Wrestlemania right after he goes into both TNA and WWE Hall of Fames. That being said he was a beast in tNA once figured out his character, always respcted him as a wrestling talent, sad he may never step in the ring again, but him and Joe WWE fumbled with hard af, honestly itll be dope if he could instead his run being in WWE if he dont want to, he have his final run where it all started for him in TNA, they got bread again and it is home.
