In the 1800s, Fresnel lenses transformed lighthouses around the world. After that, they started showing up in everything from headlights... to spacecraft. To learn their story, I spent the day with the lighthouse keeper at Big Bay Point Lighthouse on Michigan's Lake Superior - and learned some pretty incredible things.
