I have a 5th gen iPod, but it was victim to one of the most botched screen repairs ever. When I plugged it in the was no sign of life, when I opened it I was greeted with a ripped headphone and hold switch cable, a bent metal frame, a hard drive cable not connected to anything, and even the battery connector being snapped off the motherboard. How could someone commit such a crime????!!
