The Battle of Churubusco was on August 20, 1847 during the Mexican-American War. It was the battle where the San Patricio (Saint Patrick's) Battalion, made up largely of Irish Immigrant deserters from the US Army, made their last stand.
Fifty of the captured San Patricio's were later hanged as the battle for Chapultepec raged on.
This was the Museo Nacional de las Intervenciones. Very little is in English.
Banda de Gaitas del Batallon de San Patricio [St. Patrick's Battalion Pipes & Drums]: The only bagpipe band in Mexico is named after the battalion, and based at the former Convent of Churubusco in Mexico City, which now houses the Museum of Foreign Interventions (Museo Nacional de las Intervenciones).
