It's a painful quote to hear, but I'm glad Kevin can call himself a proud father, husband, and grandfather, all while assuming Fritz's patriarchal role and doing a better job at it than Fritz could've ever imagined

This was the era of World Class Championship Wrestling. This was the territory of Fritz Von Erich and his sons. This was the era of Harley Race, Ric Flair, Bruiser Brody, Jerry Lawler, Kamala, Tommy Rich, The Missing Link and The Fabulous Freebirds. Rest in Peace Texas Tornado. The Iron Claw film shows the hardships and tragedies of the Von Erich family. The film needed two more music montages in the first 45 minutes of the movie since the story dragged at the beginning, but it then picked up for the rest of the film. The only acting weak link in the film came from the actor who portrayed Ric Flair who was atrocious in the role. The next pro wrestling family that deserves a film is the Hart family from Canada. After all, Bret Hart has endured emotional heartbreak from losing those closest around him like Brian Pillman, The British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith, Jim Neidhart, his brother Owen Hart and very good friends like Rick Rude and Mr. Perfect. Bret was also screwed out of the World Title, went through a bad divorce and was retired by a bad kick from Bill Goldberg. This is during the era of World Class Championship Wrestling. This is the territory of Fritz Von Erich and his sons. This is the era of Harley Race, Ric Flair, Bruiser Brody, Jerry Lawler, Kamala, The Missing Link and The Fabulous Freebirds. Kevin had given an interview on how he received his strength to go on after losing all his brothers. He said " I stood out in the rain as it was pouring and he was this tree. It was stripped of all its fruit on the that expect for one piece of fruit that remained there defiantly on that tree. I was that piece of fruit." That comment struck my soul.

I never cry at any sort of media, this was the closest I ever been to crying at a movie. Didn’t quite get me but the scene when Kevin is crying seeing his boys playing almost broke me. Amazing movie

Uh, no ….not at all! If there was an Oscar for bodybuilding then I would agree but the film sucks!!! Film was AWFUL…worst of all Kevin finding Kerry that didn’t happen and leaving Chris out not showing the true Fritz

It's a shame that Iron Claw is going up against Oppenheimer at the Oscars. I enjoyed this movie more, but that one got SO much hype.

I have a twin brother who passed away so this movie kinda hit close to home about brotherhood which I have never got to experience with a sibling let alone 5.. Zac’s performance was something else definitely has grown from high school musical

I grew up in the eighties and watched the Von Erich brothers. I remember Kevin was always my favorite and then Kerry. They brought so much happiness to kids like me in the eighties, but I had no idea of the tragedies they faced until I was older. The movie was great, but it moves very fast. I think as a fan, I knew who all of these people were, but everyday people may miss a lot. One scene in particular was the Lance Von Erich angle...that's in the movie for a second..when he refuses to tag Kevin into the match...and just show boats for the crowd. That was the moment, cracks started to show in the family dynamic...publicly, when "Lance," was pawned off as a true Von Erich. Zac Efron deserves an Oscar nod for this role. It's his best work.

Ah..don't let it get you down. Who cares about the Oscars anymore? Bunch of elite, pretentious, egomaniacs who are out of touch with reality. Half the movies that win "Best Picture," are laughable. They'll choose some artsy crap that nobody sees and then say, "Genius." I'm like, "Don't serve me dog food and call it filet mignon!" Iron Claw should have easily been nominated, but stuck up snobs look down on "Pro Wrestling." It's only a billion dollar industry..so what do wrestling fans know? @@acnixon

I'm not. That is what lead Kerry to spiral, he was closest to Chris. When Chris passed Kerry did. Look at the timeline. Plus Kerry went out and almost to T ended his journey the same way Chris did.

Yeah good movie but it was alot of things changed that wasnt accurate from previous Von Erichs documentaries Fritz was priorities were so messed up I felt bad for Mike Von Erich he never wanted to be a wrestler he was forced into it and yes I feel bad for Kevin too even tho he weathered the storm.

they were injecting steroids in that picture when you mentioned pain killers.. dont know if that was on accident or not but they were injecting steroids and it was stressed to show how much pressure they/pro wrestlers are under in the very competitive business.

The Iron Claw is the only movie that I bought tickets to watch twice at AMC. Breaks my heart every time and I end up tearing up for the Von Erich family. I love Zac Efron and the whole cast of the movie I can't wait to buy on Prime for my collection.

I saw this yesterday and very angry … sad. They totally eliminated Chris von Erich then wonder why people commit suicide: not even featured in the family photograph in this film. What a crock. The director contacted Kevin when he was almost done filming to get approval knowing if he said no that meant no movie

I heard that make out like kerry and them were bachelor's and kerry died alone I won't watch it for the simple facts that they leave chris out and the guy playing kerry should have played chris because of his similar size to chris

Another death would have come across as gratuitous by that point, and the story was really about the ones who made the family name. Chris' story is sad, but not very interesting. Mike's character was a composite of him, and Chris because they both suffered similar issues with finding their place in the shadow of their more atheltic, and bigger brothers. The movie can't address every aspect of a uniquely dense, and tragic story. It makes perfect sense to leave Chris's suicide out. It's not meant to be a documentary.

@itheuserfirst3186 But you cannot tell the story of Kerry without Chris. When Chris passed it broke Kerry. Look at the timeline right after Chris passed, Kerry self destruction. He started heavy stuff got fired, went to jail, and was going to go to jail for awhile (in his own mind. His lawyer says otherwise) and he went amd ended his journey to almost the T Chris did. Chris was Kerry's best friend. He knew he was the number 1 and he was looking out for number 5 since Jack doesn't count.
