This is a listenable podcast style video narrating the story of my Island Gurkha. Why and how on earth did I manage to get a Force Gurkha BS6 across the seas to the islands? Why didn’t I just pick a Mahindra Thar instead? This is the full story and the triumph of perseverance.

I recently spotted a similar color Gurkha with similar lift kit without a spare tyre on the rear door. Its only the second one I have seen in that color and looks quite good in person. I also observed that this time around the audio was cleaned up a lil ( I have an OCD about sounds 😅) and it was great to hear the passion, trust and hard work all pay off.

I have been to Andaman and can't wait to go more. I hope you make videos on Andaman hidden secrets, like the tribes which ain't on paper but military and a few people have seen them and believe they exist in so and so part of island. The hidden treasure which the British officials stole from their own treasured to be sent to England and have stored it in Andaman at someplace.

Sir I have been there 12 years ago already when I was only 7 and we even shook hands with those tribes. Back then the Highways were open through their tereitory. They are called Jarwas. There are even other tribes such as onges from nicobar and the aggressive sentinals from sentinel island. Jarwas tho are still habituated with modern human civilization. My dad stayed in Bengali settlement beside their territory and sometime the Tribesmen would just walk in into their village occasionally. Feel sad for those who can't experience it after the ban.
@tripaccino
@tripaccino Жыл бұрын
@@dieselrules7912 You are right. There are 5 indigenous tribes. Onge, Shompen, Great Nicobari, Jarawa, Sentinelese.The Jarawas have come into civilisation quite extensively and have been assimilated into the local population except few sects who continue in forests. I have travelled through the reserves and interacted with the tribes. INdeed a very treasured heritage these tribes are for our country. But, The ban, I feel is necessary, especially because of many tourists who treated them irresponsibly. There was significant disease and outbreak amongst the tribes because of unregulated and irresponsible civilisation interaction. These tribes are to be protected and there was strong shutdown during COVID lest, it affect the tribes who already have dwindling population. Some tribes are just in two digit population. Their preservation is all our collective responsibility.

@@dieselrules7912 Great. Over such a lengthy time have you ever heard about tribes which are not documented ? My cousin has lived there for 25+ years and took tenders of military work. He was been told by military officials that there exists some white tribes near Chidiya Tabu and a few more tribes exists which are completely unknown to the government. Andaman is a sensitive area to hold power over Indian Ocean so no denying military would do drills and look around isolated places and islands often where no civilized men has ever stepped before and few tribes being limited to some hundred numbers there can be a good possibility. What are your thoughts on the same ?

As always a fantastic narration, this has been a great follow up piece to you team Bhp post. I wanted to know how the MT tyres ride on regular roads, is there any vibration or humming noise? Especially compared to AT tyres. Also are you back in the Islands now ? Or relocated to Goa ? Thanks
@tripaccino
@tripaccino Жыл бұрын
MT tires are just a tad bit noisier than AT. These Maxxis tread lugs are very aggressive and so you will need to maintain tire pressure to get decent ride on road. Compared to HT noise is significant but won’t break deal when compared to AT. Off-road it shines through. The advantage off road is far greater than disadvantage on road. It off roading often, and mud or slush terrain is traversed often then I’ll suggest MT. Else AT or RT should be the choice if more road biased application, yes, I’m presently in goa.

You have a wonderful way to narate boring technical stuff. Have a suggestion and/or request though --- - kindly make an episode regarding Gurkha's compatibility or pros/cons of using piggy back ecu's (e.g dieseltronic). Will it harm the engine ? does it's installation make any sense? Does the warranty gets void ? How can the power and mileage improve? Considering the max speed limit of Indian roads are being planned to be increased to 140kmph ..can the piggyback ECUs help Gurkha?
@tripaccino
@tripaccino Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the compliments. I hope more people appreciate the well researched content the channel is putting out. Here’s an exclusive review for you:- What is the Diesel Tronic kit? The piggy back ECU is a band aid modification which works principally as a single channel fuel regulator. It merely regulates the fuel being injected at different revs of the engine to make you feel like more power delivery is happening at the same rev, Compared to stock. The different ‘preset’ remote modes simply alter fuel ⛽️ volume to either give more mileage (Eco mode) by injecting lesser fuel., or more power feeling (power p1 mode) by injecting more fuel. What customers need to understand is that it does not remap the engine characteristics in any way . It’s merely adding ‘fuel to the fire’ so to speak. So while you will feel a rush of power it’s just the extra fuel burning out and combustion producing more energy, which will fade after a while. The ‘power rush ‘ and the added boost that customers feel is largely ‘’placebo ‘’ effect . Warranty : warranty would be void for anything not made by the factory. If you break something and go to serve workshop, They can claim something like a small light bulb change has affected something’s else entirely different and hence decline your claim. It is a risk we take when go with aftermarket mods. Especially with engine and power train related mods. That’s why you won’t see any video reviews of it , even though many KZfaqrs have it installed on their Gurkhas.because everyone’s worried about warranty denials ,if it’s public. There are no tech facts or scientific proof of the claimed power increase like a dyno map available on their website. If there’s power increase really , we should ask where’s the charts 📊 showing difference between a stock run on dyno and with this remapped run.? Good remaps like Pete or Code 6 are always accompanied by dyno charts. Thats the reason why Tripaccino is not testing this piggyback because there’s not enough tech behind the claim, because you know by now that our channel breaks down the tech and mech behind every modification and clearly lays out the side effects, which manufacturers don’t want you to know. The truth is that I have tried to remap my gurkha using the real tech method and the fact is that the Delphi ECU Installed on the gurkha cannot be ‘ read ‘ as of today as the protocols are yet not available. The same protocol is run on many Kia including seltos and May more cars which is the reason why you won’t see any remaps in recent Hyundai and Kia either. If and when there’s a remap (real one) Tripaccino will install it and give you a proper tech based review like always with the ‘why and how ‘ it works. Until then, save your 20k in your piggy bank and skip the piggy back . 😊 P.S: top speed has got nothing to do with the ECU piggy. And regardless of how much speed Govt allows on highway this tall off-road truck is not meant to go that fast . Please drive it like the train it is at sweetspot 90-110 where it’s relaxed. Else the vehicle will remind you of its dynamics harshly. It’s not the engine, it’s the shape that makes it unsafe at that speeds. Drive safe and be blessed !

@tripaccino
@tripaccino Жыл бұрын
Transporting your vehicle to Andamans Option 1: Economical but Requires some Work from your end Get a shipping agent. Contact TCI Seaways office / authorised agents in Chennai /Kolkata. They will require you to land the motorcycle at the embarkation port (like I did in the video). Then when containers become available , they will slot it into one of them and load. Ship will leave on specific days according to its voyage schedule. The transit may take anywhere between 3-6 days depending on how many ports it calls on enroute. You have to be there on other side at the island to receive it. Container will be unloaded and after clearances, the container will be opened and the items will come out of HADDO port (port blair) Option 2: Relatively expensive, but lesser hassles but, time consuming. Get a courier to ship it for you. Eg.Agarwal, Andaman Packers and Movers etc. they have their own containers or tie ups with combined shippers, you will drop it off at their office. They will take documents from you and do the work for you. On other side, In port blair you can collect it from their office , once it reaches and they intimate you that it’s ready for collection. This will take time because the packer will move the container once it’s filled with enough orders for economics of it. Rough price for full container one way for private usage is 80k-1lac. Motorcycle will be much lesser as you’ll not need one container exclusively for you. Option3 : Fastest and easiest. Fly over and rent two wheelers there, might not be many options, but you do get local rentals available. General Info: What’s your purpose and motivation to get the two wheeler there? (I understand the affinity because I’m also a rider first then , driver. - see my Himalayan pic in the video and watch my other video on BmW 1200GS) If you want to explore full island length from north to south, it’s not possible in motorcycle, because when you pass through tribal reserves , only four wheelers are allowed on convoy. You have to take a ferry and reach other island with your bike and ride for a little and again ferry. The total length of road available in the entire island is not long enough to justify the full effort and expenditure of taking own bike overseas. Hope you are clear. Please let me know if you need to anything else. Cheers
