Benny is brilliant and love the way he works a flub into the script. Also, great how they used Peter Lorre into the show. Thx for posting this great show!

You can't beat the Benny at anything

Thank you for uploading this classic episode. This was the first time I have heard it, it was pure genius. Mr. Benny's writers were on a roll after the war. I've listened to shows from the early years with Mary on them, and she was very talented and confident without hardly a miscue. But it seems like around the middle forties, her nerves began to get the best of her. She was blowing lines on live radio like crazy. Sometimes I wonder if the fubs weren't deliberately written in.

Man...that opening cigarette advert.... "There's something about them you like." Fascinating, when one views the advertising techniques used today.

Funny, but I wish they had not reused this for the Boris Karloff episode.
