I saw these guys when I was 15 years old at Canterbury Uni in 1977. It was just like this, The pogoing and the sheer, visceral energy is captured so well in this video. Stunning.

Would love to have seen them in those early years. Incredibly talented musicians, and Paul could craft a song so well. That palpable angry energy of a disillusioned UK youth

The Jam led a brief Mod revival. Paul Weller was angry young Mod back then! Now he’s just a mellow old man. Just like Elvis Costello. I prefer the angry young man!

Always so irritating, these directors, wasting the opportunity to capture a moment of passion in the form of a legend singing his heart out. Instead we have to watch artistic BS shots and miss the glory of Weller, in this case.
