It's probably not real. There are some things in the story I question if it were to be true, like what's the backstory on this ghost? How do they know the chant works if everyone who caught a glimpse of him or did the chant wrong die? Especially if nobody else who is living with you can hear him knock and probably can't see him? Also, how do you check if it's truly gone? Do you feel it going away, can you hear, smell it, is it just a gut feeling or a sense? Sometimes you gotta think logically if you want to determine if this stuff is real or not. But most of the time it's fake, just to give people a good scare. Although, using logic really does take the fun out of it.
