Omg we need these groups again, the misfits, outsiders, the amazing 1's. Today's pop is crap!

As it was *then,* (if you listen to their complaints about the music scene of the time

Jim said recently that he doesn't listen to current music because it depresses him; That he prefers to just listen to the records he already had collected throughout the years.

Them explaining the Glasgow music scene is exactly like the music scene in St.Petersburg where you go to a local show and theres a band on the bill youve never heard of and you go thinking its new but its only a group of about 10-15 people who make bands and keep reforming with a different name every year or two lol

You like Jesus Christ image in The Sacred Heart, listen to this track (Some Candy Talking) repeatedly just like the Papal Encyclicals, mysteries of the Holy Rosary, 3 o'clock habit, evening novenas. Who knows a miracle might happen!

Great interview and their honest. The Eighties pop sound was drivel by the time Psychocandy came out. Guitar music made a comeback by 1986. These guys did not sound like Led Zeppelin, Purple or Sabbath. They put a bomb up the seriously arrogant and pretensious English alternative scene.
@sexobscura Жыл бұрын
It wasn't drivel at all. Good bands of integrity existed if you ventured off the top 40. Even the Charts had good bands 'invade' it occasionally, as well. People just like to be nostalgic and soppy for what was instead of appreciating what *IS*

You've really got to marvel at how The Mary Chain took the pop melodies of The Carpenters and drenched them in the stylized music of The Archies
