Three years ago these would have sold out and been $300+ easily. Love that such a clean J1 High is easily accessible and I'm hoping they go for under retail 🤞.

These will be that sleeper/under the radar pair that people will regret not getting, on the other hand glad I was able to snag a pair 👍🏼definitely a 10/10 for me just a crisp pair of kicks can pull off multiple fits and swap laces for at least 5 solid colors white, black, pink, off-white or vintage and red.

2-3 years ago these would have been $450 resale. I was beyond stoked to walk into my local shoe palace and buy these straight off the shelf

These are almost sold out online. SNKRS only have a couple sizes left. Finish line and foot locker is sold out. I think these did well. They ain’t sitting

As a older person I had to grab these, I just love the low key vibe on these.

I knew I wanted these the moment I saw them in early review vids and I'm so glad these were slept on. Hype trains cause casual sneaker admirers from being able to cop a lot of kicks which can be very frustrating. I can't wait to see these in person.

Weren't a must cop for me but a clean AJ1 High and i am in need of a new everyday beater type AJ1 so I decided to grab them yesterday. UNC Toe 1 Highs really the only must cop AJ1 Highs for me in 2023 ; but these Washed Blacks are clean , neutral and very easy to match and throw on for just about any reason. I would have preferred more the acid wash / marbleized look closer to the Hyper Royals but these are still clean imo.

I thought this is what we wanted! Sneakers sitting so we can get em easily.

I think I might try and get a pair because I think they will look great on foot, something clean that you could pull out from your rotation Maybe these could be someone's best pair, the 1's that come out when the sun's out I think it's kind of nice that the market is settling down a bit, gives people who are new to collecting like myself a chance to own some pieces. If I had these I would definitely keep them in great condition, 😁 When they are forgotten maybe in a few years time Then it's time to unleash the freshness (that sounded better in my head) I think the colourway is underrated, and a lot of people haven't seen them on foot yet Thanks for sharing

In my most humble of opinions, I think this J1 is drop of the year,…SO FAR. I realize we have a lot of year to go, but these are a really sick J1 to me, and I’m a firm believer in wearing and enjoying your sneakers as they were meant to be. With a little age, and wear and tear, these will look even better. Great review, keep it up fellas.

6:56 I'm so glad someone said this. It goes to show you can't please everyone. Too many people are upset when a sneaker is limited calling it "inflated hype". But then when sneakers are GR, even with a great CW, people are upset that everyone has access to them i.e. Pandas and Cool Grey 11s. Then it becomes an issue that bad CWs are released but what can you say when every pair that drops sells out and it's hard to gauge when to go back to the drawing board and what CW to continue to run with.

Waiting to bust these out in the fall with some comfy sweatpants this is a slept on release for sure

This is one of the best color ways of the year. People are nuts. This is one of the easiest shoes to match to anything you wear. GS sizes are going for $50 cheaper then retail on stock X. In a couple years this will be the turbo green. And I'm gonna be the one to say I told you so when I have 50 pairs bought under retail.❤

I think this colorway is Awesome! Love the suede, the color blocking, and leather! It's a hit to me! Glad I was able to secure a pair for the personal!

Turbo Greens definitely sat and over time hype increased. Hyper Royals though sold out fast and were always reselling for way over retail.

Lots of factors at play. Economic uncertainty and lots of layoffs - people less likely to spend a lot of money on luxury goods. Reselling tax - less incentives for resellers to bot the hell out of releases. Sneaker saturation - lots of stock and available sneakers which makes people more selective about which pairs they buy. Regarding this pair, I dig em, although I like the recently dropped washed pink pair a lot more. I went for the AJ2 H Wings yesterday instead of these (which I think people are sleeping on WAYYY harder than even these J1s here).

I love these! They are clean and super wearable. I copped and I’m glad I got them.

I feel Nike is killing a lot of nice colorways with this sail midsole. It makes the shoe look dingy next to the crisp white side panel. Keep it clean.

Glad I got these, I’ve always wanted a pair of jordan 1’s but the bots makes it impossible to cop, or the resell price would be insane for the nice colorway pairs. This is just a nice simple colorway that goes with what I usually wear so it was an auto cop and glad it was sitting because I was on vacation and was busy at time of drop

I passed myself… majority suede is usually a skip for me. Even the other colorways (green, blue, pink) were only desired for hype. These did do very well for a Jordan 1 in todays market thou.

I went to Lapstone & Hammer fcfs for these... I got there at 9:20 am and I was the 2nd person in line... by 10am when they opened there was 8 people in line... pretty surprising cause I'd say this is one of the best j1's of 2023 so far. Also, for the record Buckets, what you said about the Turbo's & Hyper Royals was only true for the Turbo's but the Hyper Royals sold out & were immediately around $400 resale ($400 in my size at least).

5:31 the market is definitely over saturated post Covid. And ppl are now gate keeping and holding out. Jordan 1 Hype is kinda dead unless it’s a collab. These AJ1 Washed Black Heritage did sell out here in Canada though. They’re very clean and very wearable. Fire 🔥 pair!

Hyper royals were 300 plus range out the gate. Turbo greens sat around a little while and slowly climbed. They were sub 200 market price for awhile. Difference being royals released peak covid hype period. Got my pair jacked by finish line manager. 😂

This is an awesome take! Agree with everything, additionally I think alot of people are tired of fighting sneaker bots and have completely given up on copping shoes. Nonetheless, these washed blacks are beautiful.

It's the very definition of a sneakerhead - constantly thinking about sneakers and anticipating the next hype colorway and hoping to cop as many as possible to rock and resell. This was always going a small group, but then the likes of NMDs and Off-whites and Panda Dunks hype exploded into the mass market and got everyone into the sneakerhead game, but now that mass market hype is gone and people are back to copping for personal aesthetics, which leaves only true sneakerheads copping dope colorways like these. Supply is more than demand, therefore they be sitting. I'm waiting for these to drop below retail. ✌️

Its not that hype is dead its the fact that people are struggling financially these days a couple years ago people were buying everything because they had ppp, stimulus and unemployment money which increased demand and boosted resale value hence everything selling out and skyrocketing in price nowadays not a lot of people have expendable cash to use on sneakers so demand drops prices fall resellers dont go after the whole supply etc

I love the colorway, but I just don't need a pair of sneakers right now unless it's more summer weather oriented. I'm sure in a couple months time if I have the money and I see these on resale for under retail I might pick a pair up

Definitely thought they would sell out because it's not very often they put suede on a AJ1 that looks good like that, and I figured that people would still feel a little bit of Travis Scott mocha hype with the way these look with the aged midsole and suede. But I think people are just being more smart with their money, with all the good shoes that are coming out they'd rather save their money for those, but also people are less willing to just throw their money at everything with the way inflation has been going.

My problem with these suede sneakers is that they don’t look too great aged and it’s kinda hard to keep the suede green. Not to mention that you can’t really wear them in the rain or else the materials are done for

10/10 for me. So glad I was able to pick up for retail. Doubled up as want to have a fresh pair down the road, just love a clean, suede, smoke grey sneaker. Saw someone had put cream laces in, they looked sick, thinking about doing that myself. Ha ha and 8/10 from Buckets is as full an endorsement as any crep could hope for.

I see what you're saying about the market potentially over-correcting. But, I'd say we're not quite at that point yet. The reason being, these just dropped a day ago. If these sit for more than like 2-3 weeks, then we can say the market has shifted (the economist phrase btw). We've become so used to shoes selling out the moment they drop, but keep in mind, bots had a big hand in that. Nike has put a ton of effort into eliminating the success of bots in order for actual "sneakerheads" or "sneaker lovers" to get their hands on shoes at retail. What we're seeing could very well be the outcome of a successful job on Nike's part. And that's a great thing for all of us.

I think the line between sneaker resellers and sneaker lovers has blurred by companies who think we are both sneakerheads so the market has been flooded while the economy has changed the result is sitting sneakers its not a bad thing for us lovers who can try on shoes and get stuff below retail. But it sucks for the shoe companies and resellers across the board.

Forgot they dropped, got the notification from GOAT like 3 hours after they dropped, went to SNKRS and copped my size 11 haha. I was SHOCKED

I think they’re actually a few things at play, Because shoes do sell out. The resellers buy them all. It’s just that now people aren’t willing to go 3x - 7x retail price because every reseller was over pricing sneakers. Now wallets are a bit thinner resellers are seeing what footlocker , champs etc deal with when the economy is hard. It’s a great time to be a sneaker head right now because all the froth is coming off the sneaker price and you can get a good deal..

While I cannot speak for everyone, I know for a fact that the return of student loans, in conjunction with inflation, price increases, and both recent and upcoming releases that are more desirable had a huge impact on why these did not sell out.

People are going to regret letting this shoe get away. I think people spent too much cash on Yeezy day but this is a must cop.
