The LOTR, Narnia, Wingfeather association is REAL. I've spent the last year being an apostle for this series that it felt like no one in my circles knew about and those two series were always referenced in the pitch.

Coming from a cartoonist, I totally get not wanting to sell your baby to people who will not give it the effort and respect it deserves. I started following the WFS after seeing the short film and reading the 4 books with my little sis. (Not the Tales yet.☹️) And I can't believe how wonderful and moral the books were. Thank you, Andrew Peterson and Chris Wall! The Lord has given you and your team a magnificent blessing! Keep up the hard work! We're all rooting for you! Sheesh, that ending TO ALL OUR FANS, almost made me cry.

Love hearing the story of how it all came together! There's so many parts and aspects I had no idea about, and it's evident that the Lord had much bigger plans for The Wingfeather Saga. My daughter is 8 months old, and we've got a second one on the way. My goal is to finish the book series by the time I can start sharing them with my daughter. Thank you so much Andrew and the Wingfeather team for making this a reality!

Wow! It was so nice to finally get to see this entire set of interviews! I am so thankful that you waited and and didn’t sign over ownership of the WFS story to some studio, and it is so exciting to see Gods provision for a way to make the series in a way that you always wanted it to be made! Is this adaptation what I expected it to be? Not entirely. Janner isn’t quite what he was in book 1 (the boy needs more angst, but I understand why he’s been softened up; starting with his “you’re not my father” rant against Podo could alienate certain viewers), there isn’t enough Peet for my liking (but the next three episodes are bound to correct that), and the introduction of two characters from book 2 in episode 2 is a touch questionable. But outside of that, this is a great show and in some areas, it improves upon the books (Sara was handled so much better here and I can’t wait for what will be done with her in future seasons). The animation is impressive given the budget, the voice cast is fantastic, and the writing is just as sharp as the books. Can’t wait for the next three episodes and how my parents will react to them!

Is the show supposed to appeal to book fans or casual audiences? Because as a book fan I’ve watched three episodes of a show that is only tangentially related to the books. If it’s for a casual audience, then why market to the fans? I was so incredibly excited for this series and thought there was no way it would go the direction of so many other recent fantasy adaptations by changing and rewriting the source material in unnecessary ways. Alas. I hope the next three episodes hew closer to the novel, though now I’m doubtful

It’s still following the big plot beats of book 1 while streamlining things for the sake of adaptation. I’ve got my grievances with the show (Janner could be angstier and introducing Gammon and the Stone Keeper is a decision I’m not entirely okay with), but it’s remarkably solid for the budget they had to work with and it improves episode by episode. Heck, I’d say that this adaptation is making improvements (see how they built up to Sara’s capture) that’ll benefit things in the long run.

@@EternityKingdomsHeadHoncho they haven’t streamlined the story, but padded it with expansions on footnotes, made all the creatures of Glipwood forest oddities rather than threats, taken away Janner’s struggle with fatherlessness, removed Tink’s fear of heights, and shortened scenes that should have been longer(the kids discovering the door and mechanism in Anklejelly was literally solved in less than 30 seconds while Janner’s fussing over Sara took several minutes). I like the addition of Sara! But using that as the motivation behind Janner’s actions instead of the far more interesting and real boyhood curiosity and search for his father? And the kids know their father’s name is Esben, yet the sword with his name on it is just overlooked without curiosity. There was enough budget to focus on the book story rather than the additions that have taken up significant amounts of screentime. As for improving episode by episode, maybe as a show, but not as an adaptation. This episode was completely divorced from the book. Everything up to Anklejelly Manor was new and Anklejelly Manor itself was rushed through and placed *inside* Glipwood forest for some reason instead of on it’s edge.
