My prayer for this situation is that the people of God would cover the victims in prayer and that prayers would go out for the offender to fall before his God and seek His humility and strength to overcome this evil. We, as brothers and sisters in Christ from around the world, must remember forgiveness; we must, or the devil wins on yet another level. Forgiveness does not mean forgetting, forgiveness is the antidote for a hardened heart. I pray for IHOPKC during this difficult time. “Disappointment” is an understatement, imo. Processing fallout from a spiritual and emotional bombshell -that seems more appropriate. Too bad Mike is not up there addressing the audience instead of his sister. I think if he had publicly and humbly repented (a la Jimmy Swaggart) it may have lessened the damage among his followers.

This is the first time I have heard Tracy Bickle preach. What a helpful and thought provoking message with some simple but very helpful spiritual nuggets in there. I will start listening to more of Tracys teachings especially on this subject.

James 5 has direction of how the mature Church helps us when we are sick. When we think of sickness we may think of a physical condition but our ailement can be in our spirit as well. The remedy is to call for the elders and the prayer of faith will raise up the afflicted, Sadly today, there very few who qualify as elders as this passage prescribes.

At this point, I’m shocked at the lack of wisdom in having Mike’s sister in the pulpit. She is not the one who we need to hear from right now.

I believe the bitter root (and the Greek for bitter in this sense indicates a hatred or wickedness) is a root which grows from an individual and defiles people in the congregation. It’s a type of hateful mindset that distorts the perceptions of the people they influence. The fruit of the bitter root is a congregation that abandons grace and forgets the mercy and love that they ought to be walking in to glorify God in thanksgiving.

The degree to which we can be offended by others is directly related to how dead we are IN Christ. If I have been crucified with Christ and it is no longer I who live but Christ, what on earth can I be offended by. Consider the great offence WE ALL heaped upon Jesus .............. now tell me what right do I have to be offended. Much of what is said here, shows how much soul still lives in the church.

I love ihop and understand she is part of community, but whomever made this decision has not wisdom. This was done, in worse case, arrogance, or best, poor taste/ignorance. :(

Nowhere in the Bible does it quote that when trouble Springs up in a person that they share it around.? She's already off into sharing things that are not scriptural based. When she first quoted chapter 12 verse 15 out of context somebody should have stood up and said no! that's wrong. And that's why IHOP is in trouble today because nobody was held accountable for false teaching.

Number one right out of the Starting Gate she brings up Hebrews 12:15 and quotes it incorrectly. why don't you just read the verse as it is? Just read the verse as it is and don't add anything to it. I don't think you rightly divided that word of Truth.
